Default Carisma

I know this is a funny forum to ask the question, but I don't think there's too many Carisma enthusiast forums! and just maybe someone who has, or has had an impreza may know something about these.

My WRX03 goes back this month as I really can't afford it (half way through HP so can just give back) and I'm looking for a fairly cheap replacement so I can save up for another Impreza, this time to buy outright rather borrow again.

I've been looking at Carisma as it seems you can get a lot of car for the money 2-2.5k for a V/W plate 1.8GDI with reasoble amount of goodies and hopefully fairly practicle and cheap to run for a year. I have driven one and it's certainly bland in the extreme but went OK and as they have such shocking depreciation hopfully won't lose very much when I chop it in. Anyone had any experience or opinions on these.

Any info greatly appreciated

I think you summed it up. It is breathtakingly bland - even my Toyota Avensis 1.8 GS driving step dad would find the [lack of] Carisma boring. It will no doubt be reliable - but a tenner says you don't make it 12 months..........

Get a Vectra / Mondeo / Octavia. You may pay a touch more, but you will not be wanting to commit suicide after a month

I owned one 3 cars back. 1.8 GDI.

In terms of value for money was the best car I've ever owned.

Tons of car for your money, comfortable and top on mpg.

You cannot go wrong with one.

Have always regretted selling it!

If i ever get pissed off with the Scoob, I would have another in a heartbeat.

When I traded it in, it was in the 90000 on the clock and sailed through every mot.

Buy it.
Ted.

Well the sad day came on friday and my WRX03 went back, strange how you get so attached to cars but really couldn't afford the repayments. Today picked up my new lovely P reg honda accord 2.0i LS with a mere 120k miles and lots of scratches for £800. Not too bad but missing subaru already. Plan to run this thing to the ground so my next impreza will be bought outright and can enjoy it properly without resenting the repayment costs. I'm sure I'll still be accidently waving at you lot for a while! then just looking on jealously...

If you plan to run a Honda into the ground you'll probably be able to afford a new M5 outright. They go on For Ever....
