been offered the following

Golf 1.6 CL MkIII '94 L reg, 69k miles 5 door hatchback in Dark Blue, full 12 months MOT, excellent runner etc etc

for £650

I took it for a test drive and it seems good
Cap Clean shows it as 1400 quid trade (more for private sale) seen em on ebay with at least 100k miles starting at a grand

Done a search on the net, and they seem to be going for anything upto 2k private

Am I missing something, or is it a really good deal (btw its my next door neighbour who is selling it for someone he knows, he owns his own garage (repair & mot, not sales) and it is currently sat on my neighbours drive

Seems like a good deal mate. Although the price does seem low. Still....there are a few bargains out there. Will speak to you about it tomorrow!

Does sound vert cheap indeed. Definately worth checking out - though be wary, as I'd have thought it'd be worth at least a grand, possibly £1500+.

For comparison I sold our L reg 1.4L Golf last October for £1400.

The car had no power steering, no central locking, red (non metallic) with 89,000 miles and 8 previous owners! Was a nice car though and regret selling it
