Question

Anyone driven one?
Strike me as a future road rally car in the making given Daihatsu's depreciation.
I've never even seen one on the road though!

No not yet. Meant to be very quick in 2wd format but 4wd version is much heavier. Daihatsu make amongst the best small cars in the world.

I ma biased as i run the Daihatsu Charade GTti Owners Club !

Seriously if they are anything like the other Daihatus it would be a great car with some small tweaks.

Yep 100bhp standard. Lots more than that with mods. Friend of mine hillclimbs his and its being rebuilt at present. He holds a number of track records in his and will have 240-250bhp when completed in the next couple of weeks.

A Gtti with 150bhp is more than a match for a std UK Impreza Turbo in a straight line.

AllanB,

We must meet up once my TRXX is back on the road, should be around 115 when complete and with the larger turbo about 130. Not bad for 659cc

Exclamation Sirion Rally 4

I LOVE my Sirion Rally 4 , so fast and fun to drive....takes corners and roundabouts etc with glee and also loves the motorway! (have to keep an eye on the speed dial though as easy to break the limit without realising...big style!)

You're going to stuggle to find anybody breaking one of those around these parts. My bet would be to look on some direct import sites (this place for example), or Ebay Australia/NZ, where they may have been a bit more popular. You'll get stung a bit for shipping and import duty of course, but that's the price you pay for driving a very unusual imported motor
