Scoobys Vs Pulsars

i don't know if she's right or wrong but:
Scoobies
1)Lower centre of gravity because of the engine layout and height
2)Better weight distribution because of the the boot sticking out and because of the boot's weight.
3)i don't know if that's right but to me the scoobies looks wider which helps handling during cornering.(can someone back me up on this cause i'm not sure)

Ello!
I was the girl that is still in 2 minds about whether to get a Pulsar or a Scooby!
Ive had an MR2/Pulsar owner in one ear about reasons to get the pulsar and not the scoob and ive had 2 scooby owners and 1 previous scoob owner who now owns an evo in the other ear telling me why i should get the scoob and not the pulsar...
Its too bloody confusing dammit!

depends on what you like. depends of what body shape you want.
if you want practicality go for the scooby
if you want exclusivity, go for the pulsar
The pulsar is diificult to find a good one whereas there are loads of scoobies to choose from
The scooby has more aftermarket goodies
and in my opinion, there's no noise like the flat-4 noise

Woohoo XT - someone with a bit of knowledge
The thing is... ive wanted the pulsar for years, mainly for the power in such a little car but also cos its fairly rare and i dont see many ladies driving them
I love scoobies because of the natural ROOOAAAARR they make, sounds so lush, the only prob is i can import a pulsar for about 3.5k if that and scoobies now are around 10ish ... i wont be buying until next year but i need to make decisions now so i can change my financial situation if i choose the scoob, etc etc

The 230bhp in the Pulsar is only on half boost - turn it up to 1 bar and he'll have your *** lol

thank god you like scoobies for something deeper than their looks, you like them for their ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR, and then you judge me for mentioning the looks of the pulsar.
And as regarding knowledge, you can import a scoob for half the money you mentioned

The main reason im posting on here is to find out WHY i should get the Scooby instead of the pulsar, pros cons n all that
I know a fair bit about the Pulsar but not the Scoob which is why i didnt post anything non-cosmetic about them because i dont know anything else... im here to learn about them and then decide!

Used to have a Pulsar, great fun at the time but once tuned it wasn't very user friendly. Always felt a a powerful dog on a leash and was hopeless for cruising and town driving. When unleashed was at best only as quick as a similarly powered Scoob, despite the weight advantage. Handling wise no contest the Scoob is far superior, GTI-R is fine for chucking about at low to medium speeds but on the limit has far less grip and control than the Scoob.
despite all the negatives though I still have fond memories.

Disco - again, someone with sense.
Ive got a few mates with Pulsars that have also driven Scoobys and they all said the same thing - 'Scooby handling is a hell of alot worse than the Pulsars' they gave me loads of reasons why ... spose ill have to test drive one to decide...

Si - With 300bhp (pretty much 1 bar boost) Pulsars, on standard internals, will eat a similary powered Scooby as long as they are setup correctly!! They only 'blow up' if people dont take care of them and do the correct tuning, etc!

I'd suggest test driving them as well, but I think you'll find most people wont appreciate you driving their cars on the limit to see how good the handling is.
There are quite a lot of Pulsars used for Group N rallying and they never seem to do as well as Imprezas, which might tell you something? That said you can always improve the handling of a standard car.

I'll defend the pulsar!
I've currently got a pulsar and a scoob(94wrx).
In handling the scoob wins hands down, the pulsar understeers when pushed, it's ok though.
I've had 3 pulsars, never had trouble with them, don't know where this 'AA call out' thing comes from, I've had more trouble with my scoob in 4 months than my pulsar in 2 years!
My pulsar is running 1bar, ap clutch, decat etc and is, slightly quicker than the scoob running 1bar, up to about 80mph, rolling on at 80 and above the scoob is faster. A standard pulsar should be illegal, they are well slow, but 1bar decat etc and it all changes.
I'm working on the scoob (scoobyecu running 1.1bar, decat hks, hks filter etc) and it's a lot better now.
Pulsar is cheaper to insure and they can look good(like mine) admittidly most look crap, but wheels and a decent rideheight transform things, go for the pulsar if you like them they are great cars especially when you think about what they cost.

Lisa,
Get the scooby - its an icon...
I nearly bought a pulsar a while ago before my scoobs, but it is true what they say - they arnt as reliable as scoobs in my experience, the gearbox is very weak & the transmission is even weaker...
Saying that - buy an Evo over the lot of them
