Raced a 360 Modena - and won!!!

I was on the A45 in Coventry the other day in my 1.1 10year old Fiesta, when at a roundabout, a 360 pulled up next to me, started to burn past. I slipped it down into 2nd, floored it, cornered around the outside of him, and passed him. He tried to have a go later, but i flicked on the nitrous and burned away from him right up to 145, then he started to pull away. It was wicked and further on at the services he stopped and shook me by the hand, saying, and i quote: "**** man, you the best, you the daddy, you the man, here, have the keys to my Ferrari".
Honest.

Did I tell anyone about the RAF Tornado GR1 flying down a welsh valley beside me ?
Well he had no chance - after I mulla'd him, I realised I had also left me handbrake half on.... rock on in my UNO 45

Used to fly up at RAF Leeming where 56 squadron was based. We always tried to outdo the GR1 pilots in our Bulldogs and ALWAYS lost, probably by a factor of 500 kts give or take . Damn noisy, fast and far too flashy for my liking at the time!
Love that Welsh valley afterburn business mind!

Yes - the F3 OCU (R) Squadron was indeed Connigsby - I was on summer detachment there in 92 when I got my North Sea Joy flight as an RAF pilot Officer (scum University etc). Do you by chance know Teabag and Zuggy?
Good Stats - I have got my squadron number wrong - Leeming is where I was based for the 2 years and the actual F3 squadron was 25 I think. Doh! What did you used to do there fatherpierre and did you ever get a go in the red and blue dome combat simulators?

56 were at Wattisham before becoming an OCU, in the days when they flew F4s. Anybody know what happened to 74 Sqn ? Were they disbanded ?
Yeah, I blew away a Diablo in my beige Pug 306 1.4 XL. He didn't have a chance. I don't know, they spend all that money, but they haven't a clue how to drive.
Cheers

Hi Rich,
I've diverted back to a 348 would you believe. I now realise there are good and bad examples out there - the first one I drove (1990 one) was rubbish, hence me prefering the 328 I took out after. However, after testing a 93 348 recently I've now decided on the exact car & am buying it tonight (assuming it is as described). Couldn't quite afford your mate's spider as I need to put some dosh aside for the 'unpredictables' (although it was a close call!)

Or are we going to retrieve this thread before imminent removal to it's true home?

Nice one chopper, glad you got one sorted, shame it wasn't from my mate I could have badgered him for a few pints
When you want to up/downgrade it give him a shout, he has stock going through quite quickly at the moment, he will always take a good car off your hands.

Chopper: don't know any of the blokes you mentioned. I used change electrical bits that often didn't work properly. Out now, thank God.
I've got a fiat 500 with a V8 that does 1/4 mile in 10.77 secs - bought it with my pay off.
