3. MY'99 Classic Impreza wagon - stock, bar a +35bhp Powerstation remap. Word was these handled better than the saloon due to their 50:50 weight distribution.
From the back seat:
1. Jaguar XJ6 Series II - bought when I was 21.

It has to be my old mx-5. As per the comments above; so chuckable, and actually the fact that it was so slow was a good thing, because you can be "on it" all the time, and still only do less than NSL 
I was massively underwhelmed by my old Evo7 RS. At first I thought I'd love it, because it was much more "competent" than the Subaru, but in the end I just didn't click with it.

Mk1 MX-5 V Spec 1.6. Utterly brilliant, chuckable, sideways for sh"ts and giggles but a great little runabout too. Easy to work on, parts aplenty and still the soft top sports car to beat.

Depending on what type of ‘fun’, then I’d have to say my old Opel Manta 1.8GT. Only because the front seats went all the way back....
For a hoot driving it would have been my mk1 Mini with 118BHP, very quick around the twisties and awesome acceleration up to 60mph. I sold it to a mini specialist who raced it and spun it at 130mph. Luckily it had brown seats.

Evo 6 for me, you felt the road prescence and the build quality especially with the interior was a lot better than a scooby, it always put a smile on my face going for a spin in the Evo as did the scooby but the Evo 6 just felt a lot better in the build quality and performance.

I miss her dearly, but alas she was too unreliable to keep, my fault for wanting so much from it.
It would spank my Civic in the twisties, now that's saying something.
The car was a weapon, for the few miles it worked

totally agree but it still crosses yor mind, other things I stressed about was the std 6sp box and ayc diff, not the best at handling big power but tbh I never drove it that hard, don’t get me wrong I had my fun but I knew when to be sensible and wasn’t ragging it all the time. The car was usually used for weekend runs with the family so the just the occasional brisk overtake and that was it.
It was mapped conservatively with all that in mind, torque was only 460 lbs-ft

Some great cars mentioned here and I remember or have had some of em from mk1 Mexico to 1600 E when I was young and stupid now I’m a bit older and stupid ,best car for me was my Saab 900 16 v Turbo S ,At the mo ive got my WRX Wagon which is my favourite car of all my cars I’ve got at the mo,then there is the BMW Z4 M coupe IMola red sitting next to my latest aquasition which is the blue STI Scooby I got just before Xmas on a 55 plate,that’s a bit nice and then the car I’ve had for about 30 years or more is my mint Datsun 260 z with a 3.1 stroker ,Nissan 200sx gearbox,willwood four pot callipers ,slippery diff and more bits and bobs,even had a Jenson interceptor but had to get rid of it with wot was my mint Datsun 240 z when I moved about 13 years ago to where I am now and the one I drive the most is my ford transit connect van but I’ll be out in the sti today and tommorrow I’m in the studio with my band so I’ll travel light just so I can get some gear in the sti and use it down the M 11,

My first classic scoob with a scoobysport exhaust. I don't know what happened when they fitted it but turbo lag just disappeared. I loved that car and couldn't keep out of it and remains my favourite car in terms of memories.

Driven **** loads of cars, from original minis to rolls Royce to 700 brake Aventador and later spec Vanquish.
Lambo was mad, Aston was perfect road car, Ferrari 430 probably the best drivers car I've driven, but the most fun I've had in a car would probably be my xr4x4 I had when I was 19. I had no fear so drove it like a ****. Very twisty lane down the road where I lived used to become a rally stage at 1am, used to hammer down it. 34/66 front to rear split so more entertaining to drive than the Subaru.
Used to donut the thing in a field, going up through the box into 3rd gear, rotating at 80mph on the spot. Used to make many people feel dizzy
Not long sold wife's mx5, fun to drive but a little lacking in soul, but more fun than mini cooper s convertible that's replaced it.
Cars that I've been impressed with (although expectations were low) Austin metro and fiat Uno both drove well, and MK1 fiesta supersport.

As rubbish as it is, my SportKa track car is probably the most fun I've had. Stripped interior with just buckets and harnesses, Focus ST170 front brakes, wheels and sticky tyres. Only owes me about 1200 quid, including buying the car. No weight, no power but super chuckable and a really short ratio gearbox make it really good fun to hoon about it.

When I was a young man, I worked for a Porsche/Audi/M-B dealership, which gave me a wide variety of cars to drive; Porsche 911's, 928's, 944's, the entire line of Mercedes Benz (circa 1982), the original Audi Quattro, and a few exotics (Maserati Biturbo, Lamborghini Countach, and a few others). Of THOSE, I'd say the Quattro was the best I'd had a chance to drive, closely followed by the 911 (and the Countach was the worst, by far!).
As for the cars I've owned (probably up to #15 by now), I've had several old American cars of no great significance, a Volvo 245 that I owned for a dozen years and drove for about 150,000 miles, 2 classic VW type 1's, but 2 cars were my favourites. First was 1978 Honda Civic 1200, which had an engine that would rev to 8000 RPMs. Everything about it was just so well-built, and I wish I still had it today. Unfortunately, the engine blew, and I had no space to store it, so it went to the junkyard. The second was my 1986 Dodge Omni GLH turbo, which was a fully-prepped rally car. The basic design was an economy hatchback which had been turned into a performance car by Carroll Shelby. Crude, but very powerful, and a great rally car. In snow, using the left-foot braking technique,I could fling that thing around corners with barely any steering input. But, alas, rallying professionally doesn't pay, and that car pretty much ran me into bankruptcy. Those cars are quite collectible now, probably because most were raced, and ended up a flaming wreck.
