Indeed.

Anyone remember the 'first' sort of piggyback EPROM module, called I.C.O.N.? Looked a bit like an audio amp, with the heatsink fins. Came in garish anodised colours - cyan and magenta, IIRC.

Max Power fitted it on at least one of their giveaway competition projects, IIRC.

Ford's EECV ECU was a B**tard (when compared to the older EECIV and Bosch Motronic that was common back then).

Many tuners at the time just declared them untunable/unmappable. They did crack it in the end though.

I had a chipped Golf Mk2 Big Bumper 8V GTi in the mid-90's with the K-Jetronic. It was done by the original AmD just north of Oxford in a lovely little village called Kidlington, it pushed out about 128 bhp.

As I lived in Germany at the time I could get parts of the VW Dealer shelves for their G60 and Rallye Golfs and bring them back. Nice guys, the name Devine (?) rings a bell.
