Default Renault Alpine 110

Loved the original. Love this one. First french car I have fancied since the 80's

Bit overpriced though by the sound of it

I agree.

It will bomb spectacularly. No one is going to pay £50k for a 1.8 Renault. It needs to be in the £30-40k bracket.

Everything is overpriced these days. So nothing new. £90k+ M5, £50+ RS3.

Think it's sell reasonably well, and will be a Boxter/Cayman alternative. Plus 300bhp is plenty in a light small car.

Firstly, people seem to think that VW is some sort of premium brand, whereas as they don't think that Renault is.

Secondly, VW make huge numbers of Golfs and therefore are able to lease them at affordable prices. No one pays £50k cash for a Golf. I doubt the same could be said of the Renault.

I just think they have gone to a lot of time and trouble over it and done a good job.

I was a massive fan of the various 5 turbos, Gordini onwards. Had a spin in a 5 turbo and was hooked. Loved french 80's cars and this is a refreshing change to the german offerings . IMHO.

Love the lettering on the bonnet too

Yes i think people have thought VW a premium brand before now , but mainly boring and reliable

( little sporting heritage)
