Default Charade GTti

I know there used to be a fair bit of love for these when I was an active member of Scoobynet doing the various Jap Shows. There were a few SIDC/SCoobynetters and MLR members with one of these cars too.

Well one of the Daihatsu Charade GTti Owners Club members is going to be selling his car due to a house move and it looks like a very nice example which has been modded mildly and could probably be made original without a great deal of work.

He should be stikcing this up on ebay fairly soon but if you can't wait here the add is on the Daihatsu Charade GTti owners club group on facebook. If you are genuinely interested ask to join the group and when the 3 quetions come up put scoobynet as your answer to the first one.

Groovy little cars.

99bhp from a turbo'd 993cc 3-cylinder! Performance Car said it sounded like the "half of a 911's flat-6", what with its off-beat note.

0-60 in under 8... GT Turbo-rivaling.

Surely no match for the GT-Turbo/Glanza.

My first car was a Glanza so perhaps a little biased

- No, I'm sure it isn't. But doesn't stop it from being interesting/fun to drive. But to be clear, I've never owned one lol... But I did think about it. Instead, I went for the ubiquitous GT turbo.

- Did you mod your Glanza to around 300bhp? A lot of owners do. Must feel crazy.

Rapid little things back in the day. But like the XR2 I badly wanted, the insurance was just silly, so ruled it out.
Think the interiors were made from 0.001mm thick plastic

Cheers Alan! Im the one selling the charade!

As you can tell from my username I have also had a glanza! Standard there is little between them in terms of speed. However the charades IRS really does make it more fun and better handling.

Though pretty standard to the naked eye it is just a map away from 200+hp. With a weight of 840kg with full standard interior and fuel

Brother in law had one when when they first came out. Amazing little car and interesting (really good!) noise !

Had it stolen month after he had it, never to be seen again!

Friend of my dads had one back in the day, he loved it, power to weight was good, plus mpg was really good if taken easy. Just really like them, rare car to see.

I used to like these and the Glanza's, never went for one though as I liked my XR2's too much... There's a lot to be said for 800kg and circa 100bhp, loads of fun to be had, quick enough but not stupid fast to the point of being dangerous.
