Finally scratched 'that' itch part 2
Only had the last one for 8 months before she got nicked and the insurance company took over four months to pay out. So here is the 'new' one.
I have to say I'm usually no big fan of white cars but this car took my fancy.
I'll be collecting it in about a weeks time. I'm having the rear valance painted in white and the Porsche Turbo S lettering painted in black.
Sorry I can't show pictures from the front but there was a placard with my name on it lol

Congrats mate.
Personally i would keep with the rear in black as it breaks it up a bit, when in body colour it makes the rear look like a blob. Save your money with the paint and change those terrible rear lights

Thanks for the kind words
Scott, I couldn't make my mind up on painting the rear valance or not but eventually decided I like the look.
I do however agree that the clear light clusters are naff and cheapen the car ie a bit Halfords. But I suspect it will cost quite a few hundred quid to change them back to standard.

Very very nice car mate. Very jealous.
Hope this one doesn't fall prey to the unwashed too.
Hope you're upping security at home? Would put a lot of people off getting such a nice car again.

Thanks.
I thought long and hard before getting another one and in the end thought **** it. There seems to be an epidemic of car thefts in London/ Home Counties at the moment and the police, manufacturers and insurance companies are doing very little about it.
In terms of security I will now keep the key in a Faraday pouch etc.
Remote control bollards will cost £7k for two and I'm still waiting for the electric gate cost but I reckon £8-£10k.
I was going to have one of these two options fitted until a friend of mine made me look at it from another angle. Why not just get gap (back to invoice insurance) and if it gets nicked again just go buy another.
Yes your premium goes up a bit and you lose the excess but you'd have to have about ten cars nicked before that cost would exceed the costs of bollards/gate
And its not as though bollards/gates guarantee against the chance of theft anyway.

I don't want my car stolen, but I would rather that than have my family put at risk with someone breaking into the house. Very difficult.
I had gap insurance on my Subaru when it was new, good idea. Get all your money back (most anyhow) and start again. You might get a new car every year!
Seriously though, love the new car. Looks amazing.

I would ask the garage to remove the placard. It is basically saying "look everyone [persons name] has just bought a brand new desirable car"
Doesn't take a genius to work out the rest.

The placard was just there on the day of my inital visit, saying something like 'this car is reserved for the visit of Dr Dingdongler'.
And its not my local OPC

Yup ...Very nice indeed.
Personally I would still go for either the Bollards or the Gates, not necessarily both.
It just may make a ****** think twice about trying.
They may know how to get the car going but not perhaps how to drop the Bollards or operate the Gates.
Just my opinion.
I would leave the Black on the back also.

Very nice, good on you for not letting scumbags put you off owning another one... life's too short not to have/ do the things that make you happy.
I agree with your mate re the bollards / gate, but for slightly different reasons ie them attempting to break into the house while you're there for the keys or whatever to drop the bollards or open the gate.
Just let them take it and buy another as you have done, it's only a car of which there are plenty more, but you've only got one family.
Enjoy.
