Yep. Reached that age. Really fancy a Skoda Superb 280

Think its a real nice looking car. ok I'm Skoda biased but nothing else floats my boat at the moment. some right drudgery out there. mercedes in particular look utterly rubbish just lately.

What's your next car ?

I used to change cars every 8-12 months or so on average when I had imprezas, however, since I bought my 1.0 ecoboost fiesta, I genuinely cannot see me getting anything else for the foreseeable future, I really do think it's that good a car.

Fancy a Golf MK2 GTD, 5 doors and air con, which I think they have standard would be nice, but beggars can't be choosers, nice GTI came up the other day but don't fancy the fuel bills... like my 60 to the gallon too much.

Not sure what you're on about with the Mercs, I think they have the best looking cars at the moment, AMG GLE coupe in black looks stunning, could be tempted if I had the money... but then I've always liked Mercs... best 'fancy' car if you ask me... knock the spots off a Superb that's for sure.

There's so many other cars I'd love to have, but I'm going to try and keep the Evo for as long as possible. I'm still trying to sell the bug sti and the missus has the WRX wagon so there's always going to be a scoob in our lives.

M3 E46, E92, C63, RS6 to name but a few.

I've also got a hankering for older cars, Mk1, Mk2 Golf's etc.

I can't think of a single BMW, Mercedes or Audi that actually that I genuinely desire. AMGs are nice but as I've have a C63 wagon it doesn't count.

If money were no object I'd love a Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo or Macan turbo as my everyday car...but way out of budget.

One things for sure, whatever car I replace the wagon with it won't have keyless go

Man after my own heart, I say go for it mate, doesn't have to be a GTI either because few simple mods on the 16 TD brings it to ish 120bhp so almost the same as a GTI @ circa 125bhp... but you get 60mpg instead of 25/30 also a lot cheaper and easier to come by out here in Croatia anyway.

My MK1's make me smile every time I drive them, selling the none turbo D in a week or so when I finish tarting the TD up, your's for a grand.

Now the RS3 Saloon is available to order, I'm considering buying one. But the Auto gearbox, and the old platform is putting me off. Mostly the auto gearbox.

Other than that, there is absolutely nothing (other than a run-around) that I actually `Want` to buy.

Nothing exciting for sensible money out there. And everything decent is either silly money, or comes as Auto only.

I test drove the brand new S4 and though it was beautifully put together and it went around corners well (it had the sports diff) the steering feel was without doubt the worst I have ever encountered on any car.

If the RS3 has similar steering feel then that on its own is enough of a reason not to buy one.

To be fair, it might have had the dynamic steering fitted too. Most magazines say it's rubbish.

While not exactly buzzing with feedback, my S3's steering isn't too bad. Or maybe I'm just used to it. You do have to have it in it's sports setting though.

I think the problem with all modern cars these days are all the steering have got electronic, the gearboxes have (or are going) automatic, and far too many features that take driving the car away from the driver.

I can see me keeping the S3 for a few years, as everything else just bores me. Or maybe go back to hot hatches.

C63, E63, M5, RS3, RS4, RS6, Porsche of some sort.

When I finally shake this Subaru thing. It's a really difficult one as I moved from Impreza to FSTI and it's just such a great package. Now it's modified it goes like a stabbed rat yet it's amazingly practical too. Honestly not sure what would replace it currently.

Don't fancy a new car. Overpriced to buy compared with cheap finance which keeps nominal prices high. Too much electric power steering and suspension that is neither comfortable or roll resistant. Too many small engines with ECUs locked down for tuning or turbos that peak power by 4500 RPM on tuned petrol engines. Too many taxes.

Agree with this, Nothing exciting for sensible money, remember the good old days when you could go out and buy a Impreza or Evo or a Skyline GTR and still have money left over to put a few mods on, Now half exciting hatchbacks are £40k.

Wishing Subaru would bring out something exciting again, but I think those days are long gone and I think the most hardcore loyal Impreza fans have moved on to other marques!!!

I lease my cars through work and currently considering the Golf R Estate though I test drove the cheaper Leon Cupra 300 yesterday and was very impressed with the performance and perhaps more surprisingly the ride quality when in comfort mode

just bought my daughter a 1.2 VW Polo

to replace a Peugeot 306 (What is it about French cars and cooling!! ffs)

what I really love about the little (plucky) Polo is it is pre-dented - it has a huge dent on the passenger side

Drives quite well, although not as well at the Peugeot (the French do make cars that drive/ride/steer brilliantly)

Totally agree.

And they're boring... I can't drive one for much more than a couple of hours without wanting to fall asleep... literally.

I've bought too many new cars in the past and lost a fair bit of cash.

Having just sold my Exige, I've put a deposit on a Jaaaag F-Type R.
It'll be a slightly different proposition to the Exige, I'm sure....

The PCP term on my Focus ST finishes in 3 months and I'm changing it for a Focus RS.
Luckily I have the equity in the ST to allow me to only put another 3 grand down and keep the same monthly payments
