I like these:

I had the non-turbo as a 20 year old... it was an old banger already, and the most unreliable car I have ever owned, but I'd still have another one now, if I could find one in the UK, but they seem to have all disappeared somewhere.

Yep, I do love a Maestro.

The green one on the pic is one of my old race cars. Leda coilovers and lots of other bits made it one of the best handling cars I've ever owned.

I have to agree. Those strange scalloped swage lines - I've always hated them.

So very nearly bought one of these earlier this year. Drove it agreed the price etc and just didn't know if I had the plums to by something older than me. came down to whether or not it would fit in my garage. Bloody things are huge and was 8 inches too long to go in. I had to back out of the sale and instead picked up my Blobeye. Still look back at these thinking about what could have been.

I love that comment. Went out to buy a classic Mercedes and ended up with a Blob Impreza.

Yep, true story though. They are lovely old boats but I was advised by many people that 50 year old metal will hold together if left in a garage and never sees rain but leave it on the driveway all winter and it will have dissolved by spring time. Was really difficult calling it's 87 year old owner and telling him that I wasn't going to buy it as he wanted the right person to buy it and he seemed to really like me.

It wasn't the contrast between the two vehicles that made me chuckle. I can't think of many 4 door saloons which are much further apart.

Terrible cars those. My boss had one brand new years ago. It had to go back to the garage every week for things to be repaired. They planned to make a limited number of 500 of those, but they were so problematic they didn't end up making them all.

We used to take the **** out of his car and tell him we thought the Ford garage had sold his car twice to 2 owners and it was the other owners turn to have a go.
