Much respect for the power and ability but I would feel a right ****** driving either of them!

I've now done some research - a grey one without the aero pack sat on silver wheels and I'm in. Just about £30k short at the mo

Must admit I don't like the 'aero kit' either. The rear spoiler looks like something from the Zender catalogue I'd be wanking over in the early 90's lol. Poor bolt on IMO.

Looks like you've fitted a huge roof scoop on the black one, the sidc boys will be wanting the info for that one

They must go incredibly well these things because other wise it appears to be a very ordinary 5 door Hatchback

Have to agree on the rear spoiler, but apart from that I think they look great. I like the fact they look subtle and 'ordinary'. It's something Subaru could do to learn, Stupid angles, inlets, bulges and picnic table spoilers are not required!!!!

Th absolute beauty is that you can spec the car to look as "chav" as you wish. I don't want to forget my roots (this is a Subaru chavfest forum afterall!), and I love the boy racer chav look. It's one of reasons I bought the car.

Each to their own.

Like many cars, pictures don't always do them justice. They look far more than being ordinary in the flesh. The amount of looks, head turning and finger pointing the car receives on the road is a testament to that.

This is a second car / weekend blaster for me, so I wanted something that looks different and stands out. It makes me want to pull it out of the garage...... move over Subaru.

No doubt a phenomenally capable machine, but for me the look is a bit jarring with the usual image of the brand - performance Mercs are usually a but more subtle than this (OK, the 190E Cosworth had a rear wing that put the STI to shame...). Not that it's a bad thing, thats clearly the look they're going for and it'll appeal to the VXR / Type R / RS buyers.

Yeah it's pitched at the Shaun's and me era mid life crisis boys.

Black edition are also out there....
Gotta agree though Subaru forum, so everyone should be ok with a wing, unless they drive some boring diesel ****e or have conferted to the masses and drive a normal car...

I'd expect only positive from fellow Subaru people...

Just because we own Impreza's doesn't mean we want huge wings and bodykits on everything!

That's why I like them
You can add a big roof spolier and go faster stripes

No point in being old and not trying to recapture your youth

As much as I respect the car, it's no looker. Think the saloon version looks better.

See to me, this kind of car is as much about looking fun, as it is feeling fun when you drive it.

Would I have this car as an everyday drive.... probably not. I would want something bigger, more inconspicuous and comfortable. But on the flip side, as my second car, I want something that is totally the opposite in many ways..... especially when I'm launching £40k at it, yet it still needs to be usable and have an element of practicality.

Life would be boring if we were all the same.

I say hats off to MB for having the *****. Considering this is their first attempt, it's a pretty awesome package...... I can't wait to see how this sector (from MB) evolves.

Have to say the aero kitted A45 has a bit of a modern day Impreza feel to it. Shame I can't afford one

I thought similar before i bought mine, went on its first motorway run yesterday. 70 mph on motorway engine practicaly silent & barely ticking over. Returning 34mpg and thats after only doing 200 miles from new.

80mph in 7th @ 2k

It's better geared than my Diesel.

Don't worry - once you run it in you'll soon get the MPG down in to the low 20's.

Tbh that's where Subaru should be aiming with the new Sti, they can't simply rely on sheer speed and the WRC connection anymore.
