Glad we went over for the day and not just for the lights
Had a couple of chats it the carpark with some guys
The guy with the White hatch, he has the perfect job for owning
A modified Scooby.
The hatches are growing even more on me now.
The wife says she really likes them.
I want some of them blue flashing lights too. But what is the fine for them.
By the time we got to makos my 4 year old was asleep, so just got a take out then got off.
Lots of nice cars, shame about the rain and time

I enjoyed it, the traffic was a pain to say the least and by the time we got the the decent lights the kids were asleep lol, but we had fun and met some new people and looked at some amazing cars and thats whats its all about really!!!
By the time we got throught he lights it was a bit too late for the kids so we had to shoot and miss macy's..
Who won the comp's?
oh yeah and i never got a sticker in the end lol

I would like to say a BIG ThANKS to Richard and his team for planning the Blackpool run once again
I counted 58+ cars at the start and a couple more came in later
The rain is beyond the organisers control
Remember it's England ,winter and of course it rains so bring an umbella and waterproofs
Good car park set and nice drive down to the starting point
We actually waited about 90minutes untill the start of the lights due to the sheer amount of traffic but Rob kept us amused playing tunes on his white hatch
Pop pop bang bang
The drive through the lights was great as usual with the crowds loving the convoy of Scoobies and the roar of the engines was fantastic
Think we finally got through the lights at 1030-11pm and great to catch up with all the other guys at the end at McDonald's for a good chat about Scoobies
Nice to see a few non Scoobies joined the convoy too
The Toyota supra club going the other way looked fantastic
For those that gave up and say waste of time and money ,I'm sorry but it's an event for charity which is done for the last 9 years and is one of the main events of the scooby calendar
We all know about the crowds and the length of time it takes to go through the lights ,that's part of the fun of it and all meeting up at Mcdonalds to talk about the run
Great to see lots of people dressed up for the occasion and some of the cars decorated for Halloween ,fantastic effort
Thanks Richard and the team
See you all at Blackpool run again next year

The only complaint about the organisation, was the darkness of the car park and the fact they locked the toilets when we got there, WTF was that about ?
Would have been nice to have some stalls like previous years, but I couldn't of done a better job so no criticism intended.

Just a modest and safe 315/300 (20g@1.4 bar) at the moment ,has a few glitches so on a ' safe' map. fmic, ported headers, caik ,full set of silicone hoses and new injectors to go on next week along with a good tweak from enginemapper. Hopefully see top 300's then.

I was thinking last night did I have a shower yesterday , my answer was yeah " two " one at home and one by that rain shower that nearly drown me and shaz at the end .
I didn't think the car park was bad, really nice setting in the daytime but with the dark nights closing in we soon lost the light.
The toilets are an issue but every public toilet are shut at 5 in blackpool and they did say they would leave our one until six . But due to the antics that primmo found in the sign they close them early but it was nice of the park ranger to let people use his toilet for a while .
As for the competitions , we only managed to judge one category .. best dressed car and the winner was the UK 300 of andi every part of the interior had cobwebs on it , the seats were wrapped in it , even the roof lining was white , lights and spiders everywhere ....
Thanks to the others who made a good effort in that category ..
As for the other two best dressed adult and child , I just didn't think you would fancy standing in the rain so the intention was to Finnish that at McDonald's but I was 45 min behind you guys and people had gone :-( so Im sorry about that one ..
Collections again due to the weather standing at the end of the car park everything would of been drenched ( money , me , and stickers ) I do have a plan for that ..
There was a good bunch of us from all over the country even holiday people , and nice to see 3 mad Mazdas with us .
The lights run well I can say I made it through unlike last year .......... I would like to say to people that moan about the length of time it takes to get through the lights "understand that we are not the only ones there " and the average time is 3 hours so you have to expect delays .. they did look good this year , I couldn't see another scooby from where I was but I could sure as Hell hear you all , the sound of dump valves and rev limiters from the flat four ....as we were driving through the lights it was good to here family's talking about us kids say to there dads as they passing us
" look dad have you seen that one " it just makes me smile :-)
It good to see we still get a good reception from the public .
McDonald's we reached the end .... I bet there was a few " thank god for that " sayings floating around ... there was a nice few if us at the end people , mini waves of scoobies ... we all managed to have some food with no fizzy drinks and a good chat in the end ...
Well that's it , over for another year , gone but not forgotten ...
Do we have a tenth anniversary next year ?????????????? Only you guys can answer that one ..
I would like to add thanks to all of you who came and braved out the weather , it was nice to see a wide variety of models and nice to see subaru uk in attendance with there to pro-r cars . And thanks to you all for your nice words ....
Rich
p.s there will be another thread appearing later about prizes , donations and stickers ..

The blue flashing LED Panels came from ebay, If I can find a set I'll PM you the link for them, Not to sure on what the fine is for them being on to be honest, be 3 points and a fine for impersonating a police vehicle i'd imagine

I have to say this was our first Scooby run since we got the wagon and with it being on gas wasn't to thirsty either After reading some of the posts on here about the wait... Blackpool is notorious for long traffic delays when the light are on was you not aware of this before you put your name down???
Its for Charity at the end of the day
We thouroughy enjoyed from the start to finish and seeing those toilets at the end was well needed any longer and we would have had wet seats
I gotta know who was the guy with the funky air horn behind us???
I want one everytime I heard it, it cracked me up
And there's a sticker?? how do i get mine please
looking forward to next year run already

I think we should do more 'big meets' like last night more often. Just a Collaboration of regional clubs going out for a good run out together.
Ie, Each regional club chairperson organises a run in their own neck of the woods and to invites the other local clubs along. I vote richgreenscooby1 starts the ball rolling.

Well if you can accept paypal donations for the £5 i would be more than happy to and can add a bit more for the cost of an envelope and a stamp for a sticker
to be honest i felt quite guilty on the way home still having the fiver in my pocket but wasn't sure who to give it to
