Default NBO UPDATE 3 = June 15th 2014

NBO UPDATE 3 = JUNE 15th 2014

Only TWO weeks to go!

First of all we are pleased to add OMG – One More Gadget of Ripon , who will have a range of gadgets and electronic goodies on offer, Something for children of all ages 5 to 55 to the traders list. Ten traders will be with us on the day and we are constantly working to get as many as possible for the NBO for the benefit of everyone.

We have had some fantastic prizes donated which will be on offer via first of all the raffle on the day , tickets will be widely on sale throughout , and secondly we have some extra special prizes which we will auction off before the prize giving at the end of the day . Many Thanks to the following companies for supporting NBO 12 and the Children’s air Ambulance:

1. Tesco – Catterick Garrison
2. Pirelli – F1 Division
3. Dunlop Tyres and Matt Neal
4. The Mountain Warehouse – Ripon
5. Sainsbury’s – Ripon
6. NGK Spark Plugs
7. S.G.Petch – Subaru Dealers of Richmond
8. Adrian Flux Insurance
9. Mothers Shiptons Cave – Knaresborough
10. AS Performance
11. Prodrive

Be sure to have a look at the prizes on display at NBO 12 in the tent there are some crackers! And we may have a few still to come with a bit of luck!

The Children’s Air Ambulance will have a team of four people with us on the day helping to collect funds and sell the raffle tickets and of course manage all things charity wise, please visit their display and help spread the word of the great work they do for all of the UK.

Please remember all funds raised on the day go to ONE charity which this year is the Childrens Air Ambulance and NO others. This is a legal condition of the event insurance amongst others so please can we have no repeat of last years NBO when some people decided to start collecting for their own causes , as noble and worthy as that may be we can`t condone it I`m afraid. Many Thanks.

The official NBO 12 list on the Scoobynet page still needs updating to reflect the true attendance figures we have. So once again please could all the club organisers transfer their blocks over to the main list at their earliest convenience because as always we have to sort out the public liability insurance and H&S risk assessments for the event. This is a legal requirement for an event of this nature so please can you all sort the main list out. Hopefully we will get to the 300 Subaru mark on the day. Please spread the word and help us maintain the Subaru community tradition. I will do a final clean up next weekend to sort it before the event.

A repeat of the nitty gritty announced last month:

The entry donation remains the same again this year = £10. With all proceeds going to The Children’s air Ambulance. As will the proceeds of the charity raffle and auction which will be held on the day. Faye and her team will be with us on the day collecting for this very worthy cause.

The gates open to the public at 1000 hours and we will start judging at 1000 hours also. But can we ask all clubs to be aiming to be on the field and set up as early as possible. From 0730 onwards via the usual tradesman’s entrance. We have a lot to get through.

Classes for the ring to be judged are as follows:

1. Classic Imprezas
2. Bug Eye Impreza
3. Blob Eye Impreza
4. Hawk Eye Impreza
5. Hatch and Saloon Impreza 2008MY+
6. All other Subaru Models

Judging will run throughout the day and will be managed by Gus the ring master and manager of the team of judges who include Andy Rae , Steven Wood , Rob Ostle and more to be confirmed.

We will have another competition this year which will be reflecting the transition of Subaru as a classic performance marque = The Northern Best Original or NBO Test.

This will be done via a self-assessment questionnaire which will then be validated and verified by the NBO team to see who has the most original Subaru and wins the trophy on the day.

The club stands will also be judged by the clubs themselves as per last year:

ONE CLUB == ONE VOTE

We have 10 clubs who will each vote on the TOP FIVE only by visiting each stand and awarding marks subjectively. Obviously clubs don`t mark their own stands. Then the marks will be validated and verified by the NBO team.

The sheets are self-explanatory and we want to keep things nice and simple and the clubs can design their stands exactly as they wish. Trophies are awarded for the top five club stands.

This will be completed by 1300 hours at the latest as per the NBO test.

We are once again proud to have our superb Master of ceremonies Martin Reay in charge of proceedings from behind the microphone with his tried and tested professional media expertise backed up with Subaru knowledge.
