Default Karndean Flooring

Anyone got/used this and whats the general opinion good/bad/indifferent?

Have got a fitter coming over tomorrow to quote on fitting solid wood & engineered in the hallway and lounge. Said hed bring samples of Karndean as well. Never really heard of it but seems to be well regarded most places and main advantage is not as cold which the mrs thinks is one drawback of wooden floors in the uk winter months.

We have some Karndean flooring in the kitchen..

Its nice and hard wearing, but you floor has to be billiard table flat for it to be fitted.Unless you have the floor leveleed before fitting of course..

I would reccommend it,i cant think of any downsides.Apart from the price of course!...lol...

I've got Karndean in the bathrooms and bedroom. It looks great, warm on bare feet, no splinters and hard wearing.
I've got Amtico in the lounge, which was much more expensive and to be honest, does not look any better

I have it in my kitchen and a conservatory. It's expensive but if fitted well should last a good long time, but it is possible to scratch it if you're not careful (like some idiot dragging a washing machine over it). We've also had some problems with the underlying latex screed disintegrating in places in the kitchen, but that is a fitting problem not a problem with the tiles.

We've got it, been down for at least 4 years and it looks great. Easy to clean, warm on your feet and worth every penny, IMHO.

Got it in our downstairs bog and after 6 years and 2 kids using it every day, it looks as good as the day it was fitted.

I have it in lounge and conservatory and don't agree that it is expensive. It costs more than laminate but that stuff sounds awful imo when walking over it in shoes and looks cheap.

I got karndean sample boards from my local carpet/flooring shop, chose the one I wanted then went to iloveflooring.co.uk and bought at a huge discount. Then I paid someone independently to install.

I can't remember the exact cost but I know I saved about 50% all in doing it that way

We have it in the Kitchen,Living Room,Conservatory,Office and in the kids bedrooms. Like has been said, Floors have to be completely level before it goes down else it will lift in later months/years. Super hard wearing and warm on your feet. Easy to clean and look after etc. Recommended but very expensive.
