Unhappy £5 a pint - Marco Pierre White in Newbury!

I like a decent pint of real ale, but MPW is taking the Mickey charging at £5 a pint: The Times

This is Newbury BTW, not Park Lane!

I fail to see why everyone seems to think anything of decent quality has to cost more

And they wonder why folks are buying cheap beer & drinking at home.

Copenhagen a few weeks ago, was paying about £8 a pint - it was expensive enough before the exchange rate went against us.

I went quite a few years ago thinking it was a pub. It was obviously a restaurant when we got there, but we still asked for a beer for some reason. Bit awkward.

Not many complain when buying a bottle of poncy lager for £3.50 a bottle. That's usually a 1/2 pint bottle, so £7 a pint

Waitrose are doing 8 cans of Abbott Ale for £7.50.
