Pressies for an 11 year old?

Pressies for an 11 year old?
Anyone else stuck on what to get their kids of around 11 years old? Anyone found any good pressies for this age that is a main resent but not stupidly expensive?
Already got every games console in the house so already exhausted that route.
Only thing i've come up with so far is a mountain bike but wont get used much as he is only here every other weekend and with 2 much younger siblings who aren't old enough to ride bikes yet we can't all go out so seems a bit of a waste.
He himself has even said there is nothing he wants so no help there. At the moment i'm left

You would have thought wouldn't you, however he already has one and so do I and neither get used, well maybe about twice a year at best

I'm trying to think what I wanted when I was 11, then I've remembered that things have moved on a heck of a lot since the Dark Ages, thus I try and put myself in the frame of mind of today's 11 year old. Console/Computer would spring to mind, but as you said, you've got a console, so that's done and dusted. Computer might be an idea, depends wether you want him to have his own machine though, if he's not already got one of course.
What about an MP3 player, possibly an iPod Nano, or a PAYG Mobile Phone. Gift card for a decent clothing store, or perhaps HMV or somewhere similar, or maybe for a book store, if he's into reading? Not sure if that comes across as cheap and tacky though.
How much is a six month or annual movie pass to the local cinema? Being 11, not sure how many films he could get into, though we all know we snuck into 15's when we weren't 15

Guessing he's already got Rockband/Guitar Hero world tour and all that, or he's not into that stuff. What about a young drivers tuition course, not sure if I just made that up but I'm sure they do something like that, somewhere I'd have loved that as a child!!

Perhaps a donation to charity on his behalf (e.g. support a third world kid for a year) will help him to learn the true meaning of Christmas

Pretty much everything electrical has already been done so yes already has ipod etc. Currently at the far end of his bedroom is my office so has loads of pcs/laptops to use. He doesn't have a digital camera but does have the camera for the psp and hasn't used it much (the camera that is). Has a mobile phone and I was going to get him Guitar Hero World Tour but his mum beat me to it.
Yes he has a lot of stuff and that has come about by having what amounts to two families now so doubles up every Birthday and Christmas to the point he really does have everything he has been after.
Go Karting is a good idea as we are close to Buckmore Park but honestly don't think he would be interested. He is not a petrol head - yet. Hence not having a motox bike or mini moto etc plus no where round here to use them.
CD it may appear he is spoilt but he does not act like a spoilt brat. When I questioned him over Christmas pressies he really did say it's OK you don't need to get me anything in a very polite manner and his teachers have always said he is one of the politest boys in school. He may have a lot of stuff but one thing I have taught him is manners.
One other idea is a nice watch but worried it will get 'lost' whilst living back at his Mum's house - wouldn't be the first time.

How about a musical instrument and some lessons !!!!! 11 is a great age to learn to start learning to play an instrument although he would maybe need to have a little shove every now and again but hey thats life and its very rewarding !!!!

I'd give him some money, I would 
They love cash after hitting 10 or so these days. if you give them a Christmas card with a pressie, they unwrap the pressie as quick as possible, then rip the card apart in hope to find some dosh in it. LOL what a cash oriented world we live in these days! Even little weenos prefer cash!

my other half spent hundreds on a remote controlled petrol scooby... it just sits on the shelf....

I suggested petrol remote control car and I got accused of buying something that I want Plus the cost is near on £200 which is too much. I've got a remote control heli and he has a different one a relative bought him last Christmas and he plays with neither
I think I need to confiscate both his DS and PSP and ban the Xbox360 and PS3 so he starts playing with other toys.
I'd like to get the petrol r/c kit car so he could build it and spend time on it but cost is just too much - off to google to see how much they have come down to.

Get an electric instead, cheaper and easier to fix / run. Lots of mods available too. I had a Tamiya Frog when I was around that age, loved building it and running it. Got one of these now Losi Mini LST 2 - Blue can't go wrong for £120 or thereabouts

Just seen the above, great rc cars but too much money I think - i'd love one! Pets are a no no as we have 3 rabbits already and a fish tank plus he isn't here enough to look after them. It's my 4 year old that wants his own marine aquarium in his room with Clown fish 
Models would keep him busy but how excited do 11 year olds get about models, even if its cars or fighter jets I know he will still be thinking of getting back on the computer games.
Possibly the James Bond DVD collection is an option but again involves sitting in front of the telly.

CD yeah I had Tamiya cars, had the Monster Beatle and still got the white off road thing in the garage (although it's dead) but hated having to rely on batteries all the time. 20 mins running time at best and 30 mins quick charge for the next go. Have they changed much? If I was going to get him one nitro would have to be the one for extended running time etc.
