Question Nokia N95 - a WIERD problem :(

Hello All,

Putting this in here (with a link to the computer section) - got a real problem with my regular N95.

There's a bluetooth message trapped in my Outbox.

I can't delete it, and can't move to draft (then delete)

I've done a hard-reset, still no joy.

Here's the pics -

The phone is a Vodafone model, running on firmware 11.0.026.

I've called Vodafone, and well, they haven't really expressed an interest. They've passed me on to Nokia, but I can see where this is going (both companies denying liability), despite my having phone insurance and it still being in warrantee.

Can anybody help/offer some suggestions?

The main issue is that the file keeps trying to send, and is of course, affecting my battery life

HELP

Dan

Sounds like a virus to me
Have you called ClubNokia ? They were really helpful when I had issues with mine.

Of course having insurance surely there is something that can be done as its not functioning as it should. I would usually get it exchanged if mine did something like that.

Good luck getting it sorted.

Quick way to sort would be to back up the phone and reflash the firmware.

other than that is there any file manager software which would allow you to access that area of the phone and delete via your PC?

Can you actually send the file to somewhere to get rid of it?

Thanks Snazy - will have a look there.

STi, yeah I've tried the PC suite, but as it's all automated now I can't get a different version of the firmware!! (unless anybody's got an earlier version that I can install manually )
I don't even know what the file is to get rid of it I've tried re-enabling the Bluetooth on my Mac to see if I can "find" the file - no joy so far

May be worth trying a file browser program such as this

Then hopefully get access to file via your PC to delete it.

Afaik,

N95 V1 is up to V20 firmware.

your auto sw updater should download the latest firmware.

failing that do a hard reset, not a soft (used to be able to do that on my other smartphones.) try some of the symbian forums, they may be able to help

Nice one guys,

Yeh - i've seen that the N95 fw is up to V2x, but the Nokia updater won't play ball (must be a vodafone thing)

Tried the software, but can't seem to work em (I'm a muppet! )

So, I'm guessing that this is a first then

SORTED. A full hard reset, and all is well again.

FWIW, the reset is the one using the green button, * and 3 whilst powering on. Wait until the hands appear, and release.

Worked a treat. Just be mindful that you must backup first!

Thanks for al of your help
