I've not found a decent one yet, all the ones i've tried are crap, if anyone finds a decent one that works (properly without loads of crackling and interference) please let me know.

I got this one for my ipod last week:
Amazon.co.uk: iStuff AutoScan FM Transmitter for iPods and MP3 Players and Mobile Phones: Electronics & Photo
Great Amazon reviews and the sound quality is excellent. Recommended.

I tried the Belkin Tunecast 2 from Richer Sounds (the online price is £15 not £20 so you would need to quote this instore) The signal output level is so low that I had to have the MP3 player volume nearly on full and the volume on the car head unit so high that the background noise between tracks was unlistenable.I had to take it back for a refund, could be a one off but I wonder if the UK legal FM transmitters have a lower power transmission capability than the Ebay ones ?

i thought about this but as the balance of feedback was negative, and i had the ability to plug in rather than having to rely on fm, i went for the hard wired cable instead. obviously it's not as convenient for switching between cars, but i'll live with that

i got an itrip auto which seems good, only downside is its not as loud as a FM broadcast so you have to turn it up / down switching between say radio 1 and the ipod

I had a transmitter a few years ago and thought the quality was rubbish, it was also a complete pain to adjust the frequency on the device, so I bought one of these leads (not from this place though, so I don't know what their service is like)
Kenwood Aux Line In Adapter CA-C1AX für iPod usw... on eBay, also Anschlusskabel, sonstige, Kabel Stecker, Auto-Hi-Fi Navigation, Auto Motorrad Teile (end time 16-Jan-08 08:02:24 GMT)
to allow an Ipod to be connected through the CD multichanger socket on the head unit. You can't alter the tracks etc but you don't get the interfearance.
If you go to their shop they have leads for most makes of car radio.

Yup, don;t buy an FM transmitter -
I have mine hooked up via an adpater that goes to the head unit - it charges up whiles its connected and I get srystal clear sound, I can also change tracks and ablbums from the head unit. All for the princely sum of £50.
