Best Hotel in the world!
After the **** hotel post, I thought I'd post a good one.
Wife and I stayed at the Hotel Endsleigh for two nights to help us recover after losing our baby boy.
It's utterly stunning, the service is amazing and the food is some of the best I have ever had.
Highly recommended if anyone wants to spoil themselves.
We got upgraded to a suite that was so plush and massive, we laughed out loud when we got shown to it!

Look's rather stunning...
What was the food like?... not that my life revolves around food and beer
..... Its food, beer and babes
I always fancied feckin off to a country pile over Christmas, just never really found anywhere that fitted the bill..... and most places hike the price considerably...
Oh and was there a bar, and did it stay open late?

Can't remember if it has a star or not but it deserves one. Or maybe even two.
..... Its food, beer and babes Some attractive staff. I drank Peronis pre dinner.

They do a Christmas/ New Year special. It's quite remote so they have to try harder with prices. The sister hotel (Tresanton) in St Mawes has almost no land but costs a LOT more (but is also stunning)
Oh and was there a bar, and did it stay open late? It's one of those hotels where they'll do exactly what you want. Very relaxed (an Olga Polizzi hotel - daughter of Charles Forte) but superb in every way.

I must admit, I really have struggled to find a spot on Hotel in teh UK;
Most have been overpriced, tiny room, with dire soundproofing. And firedoors that keep slamming throughout the night.
The only nice place that springs to my mind is Cameron house on Loch Lomond. But its been absolutely donkeys since I last stopped there, so it may have gone down hill
linky: Cameron House, Hotel & Spa, Loch Lomond, Dunbartonshire
Overseas is a more tricky one as I spend more time out the hotel than in it. And some of the best hotels I've stopped in have been in the wrong places which kind of ruined the experience. Myself not being one who intentionally seeks out 5 star hotels etc, but I quite liked the ANA (now Shangri-La) in Sydney, but only because we had a corner suite with a view of the harbour bay from the bath tub
