As I see it the people facing bans are the very same people that bring the humour and thought provoking threads to SN. Now that also causes an often difficult situation for the hierarchy, that has to be dancing to the countries PC song and not have the members with less substance than a bout of diarrhoea being offended in any way, shape, or pathetic form.

Simon shouldn't even be involved in any discussions in my opinion. The mods are delegated that level of communication and what they say should really be adhered to. Unfortunately everywhere has got too 'nancy' for a decent laugh without somebody taking offence OR those very same people get a kick out of reporting something just for the fact it makes them feel important and powerful when otherwise they wouldn't stand a chance in a 'normal' society.

All the 'us and them' mentality isn't healthy either. The powers that be do a good job in running this site, yes they make money but so they should. If members don't like it they should run along, not stay and 'gob off' like a Labour party rep with more wind than sprout eating hippo.

Anyway, play on.

I reckon it would be more productive to bin the infraction policy-fraught with the possibility of unfair actions by the vindictive.
