Question Being paid a Month in hand

I'm having one of those days where my brain will not get outta bed so can someone just confirm something for me. . . .

Had an email offer of some very well paid work but it is to be paid on a monthly basis, "a Month in hand"

Does this means that I have to complete 1 months work and then I get paid for that month , or, I will have to work for 2 months before I see any money?
IE: After the 2nd month I will be paid for the 1st months work - But surely that would be 2 months in hand?

I don't want to sound really stupid to the client and my brain just won't compute it at the mo'

being paid a month in hand means you will get paid after you have worked for a month, that means you will get 2 months pay at the end of the second month

So its 2 months pay after working for 2 months....... well I didn't even consider that

And then I assume after that initial period I'm then paid monthly?

Will confirm things when I meet with the client, but wanted to know where I stood first.

Unless someone tells me its something completly different?

Being paid a month in hand as I understand it would mean you work for a month, then get paid for that month you have just worked at the end of it. You won't get paid 2 months at the end of the second month, you will just get paid the next months money.

I get paid month in hand - so I get paid in March for what I what I wroked in Feb, Paid in April for what I worked in March and so on
I'd check it out before agreeing as it might be constantly a month in hand (like me)

Only good thing is when I stop working for this company I get pay the month after I finish working

Well I'm glad others have more than one way of interpreting it.

I would have thought it was work for a month then get paid for it, but had a doubt in my mind that the first month may be different?

I'll get them to clarify it, but at least I won't feel like an idiot in asking!

Thanks,

Bob

I would say, work one month, get paid. That's the way I do it. Am working now, in March, I will receive my cheque, 1st April
