Watched a stabbing today
Posted up last week about young lads smashing a scooter to bits with chains.Just got worse this week.Watched for an hour or so whilst a bloke of about 30 argued aggressivly with a girl of about 20,they were both as bad as each other with there slapping and general behavour.Didnt think much more about it until another bloke and girl appeared outside the workshop, the 2 girls now started fighting, then 1st lady pulled knife from her handbag and stuck itin her just under her left armpit in the rib cage.It was some sort of kitchen knife. They carried on fighting until bloke 1 stopped it.Fortunatly my garage is opposite a ambulance station and he took her there. Then they all just legged it.Police arrived she was taken to hospital with collapsed lung and the police said in a critical condition.I love camberwell cant wait to get back tommorrow,my forecourt is now a potential murder scene.JAY

Nothing surprises me in this area anymore, theres yellow boards everywhere advertising shootings stabbings muggings sexaul assult and any other offence you can think of.The buisness wont survive much longer anyway because all decent people are leaving in there droves.Week in week out customers are coming in saying they are moving if nothing else to get there kids in decent schools.JAY

Not nice. Makes a change from people getting stabbed in their houses I suppose.
Camberwell can be a bit feisty, like most of london. Mind you, Moss Side is the only place I've personally known a carjacking to be attempted, and the scariest place I've been was definitely Chappeltown in Leeds.
Just for a bit of balance. I've spent a lot of time in SE5 and surrounding areas and never had a spot of bother. Peckham's nicer though.
Is that Denmark Hill or Coldharbour lane then?

Why ask the question otherwise? D'you reckon sociopath is compiling national statistics or something then?
If so, I suggest there are better, more accurate ways to get information on the ethnic origin of violent criminals.
If the idea is to stir up an argument about race whenever crime is mentioned, then it's probably a good way to go.
Mind you, the answer to the question is yes. If S. meant "were they black?" then I don't know the answer.

A couple of months ago someone got shot almost opposite my house in High Wycombe, Bucks. We had police on all fours doing finger-tip searchs through our front garden and driveway, under my wifes car and in our wheelie bin!
2 different gang members apparently met and one shot the other twice, didnt kill him though.

Hi Jay,
I read last week about the scooter and must admit it made me laugh. I also told a number of mates about this and also enquired whether the scooter cultutre was common place across London. No real conclusion as yet.
I've seen a number of replies and wonder how many people actually know the Camberwell / Coldharbour lane area? I'm not too sure I knnow the area either. I've been to a few nice pubs in the area. Done the whole pub crawl from Elephant to Dulwich in fact.
What you have described is not too uncommnon around London. The only difference is that you have reported this where a Newspaper wouldn't have botherd. Lots of cases around london. I'm not really too shocked to tell the truth. I really wonder how people get involved in this stuff to begin with.
