Thumbs up ive got a crackling noise in my ear...

....it sounds like its my ear-drum, but it doesnt hurt, just wondered what it is

have you sat up to quickly?as this can cause ringin in ears

Hiya Sara, get some ear drops and loosen the wax. The vet used to hear my dog's ear crackle....

Does it happen when you hear running water.???

Happens to me all the time - perforated ear drum

Obviously nothing to with me going clubbing\rock concerts\ and my personal qeust at building a Hi-Fi system capeable of the full-on rock concert at 5ft

Actually truth is I have innner ear/sinus problems. oh yeah, and the tinitus..peeeeeeeeeeeeeee

very mild ear infection- I get this constantly and it worried me given the nature of my job, so I went to the quacks about it.

Get some sudafed co - and inhale some steam from some boiling water to clear your tubes. If its worse than that then the quack can give some antibiotics that clear it up.

Ear drops or anything else external will do naff all as its on the other side of the ear drum in the middle ear. And dont for heavens sake do something stupid like poke in with a cotton bud

Have you had your head under water by any chance? If so, it's probably wax drying/hardening. Go to the chemists and get yourself one of these:
