Default Any sparkys out there?

Problem:

Fuse box in the cellar, three seperate boxes. Each of the has the old stlye circuit breakers, some have 3 some have 4 inside. The ones where you can replace the fuse wire if blown.

If the breaker is labeled as 15 amp is it restricted to a 15 amp wire or can it be changed to a 30 amp wire?

I assume that everything connected to this one circuit breaker will not work if blown but everything else connected to the other circuit breakers, within this box, will a) still be working and b) have no bearing on the problem thats causing this circuit to blow?

TIA

Buck

Correct. if that fuse blows everything else will work regradless theres nothing stopping u fitting 30 amp fuse wire too it but it defeats the object of having a 15 amp fuse there in the first place

Correct as above. You may find that the fuse wire remains intact whist the wires in the walls go pop!

Not worth risking an electrical fire in the house wiring, then you would really have a problem.
