Well, I attempted to make some gluten free pancakes today, in between my work time. Not for me, but for the kid. To my surprise it didn't disintegrate. Usually, the gluten free pizza base always seems to fall apart at the its edges. Anyway, I did eat one, and it tasted fine.

I may post a picture of it later.

I haven't eaten any (or been here since last year). But hello oldies.

I didn't have time to cook any today *hangs head in shame to my 2004 self*

Wow, they look substantial and quite filling!

This first one was eaten with honey and lemon wrapped inside it, and it tasted satisfactory.

We like ours paper thin, may they be gluten free or containing gluten. We like paper thin pizza, paper thin chapattis and paper thin everything! That's if it comes out ok. Sometimes it gets spoilt, but usually it's fine.

The missus sent me out last night with the instructions "get something for pancakes...."

Apparently a push up bra is not accceptable....

I question the same when I hear the SN men showing off their kitchens and hardly ever mentioning whether their wives had any say in it. Perhaps men here are more feminine and kitchen oriented than we think, and perhaps their ladies wear proper trousers at home.

It's only frikking pancakes FGS! Not exactly a Caribbean lobster or anything!

However, post the picture/s of all the pancakes that you would consume today.

Yes and I read anything posted on the Internet with a big pinch of salt (except for pancakes).

Just to add no pancakes here for me again sadly as it's not possible. Maybe tomorrow.

Hello Nicci Happy Pancake day to you!

I didn't even know that it was Pancake day today. We ate quite a bit of pancakes in last two weeks tbh. Gave some to the neighbours, too. So the temptation isn't there, but I may make some- later. I'm going to fry mine in a drop of ghee this time, if I do.

Yeah, and I know what I'd sooner have!

I think you underestimate my near-irrational love for the simple batter-based sweetmeat.

Thing is, I've been grazing on plain choc digestives at work today - ain't got no appetite. Damn!

Back in about 1996, I asked the folks I worked with 'when is Shrove Tuesday this year?'

The answer from Little Dougie "I think it's next Friday" left us all incapacitated with mirth for several minutes.

Nevertheless, we forget it every year and it's too late now as we've already eaten, again.

Ha. Yeah, my boss said that his other half proffered, "I think pancake day is on a Monday this year."

BTW, what does 'shrove' mean? I've heard the word 'shriving' too... (Deliberately not googling it).

I welcome spare pancakes, not the fat ones though.

These adverts used to be a good reminder
