Default Fastest car you've ever owned?

Sadly this isn't a boasting post, including my 5 Imprezas, the fastest being a 305bhp, I would have to say my current Audi A6 Allroad 3l Diesel is the fastest car I've owned. I've had it mapped and dyno'd at 320bhp, which I think is a bit off and it's more like 300 (tops), but it's awd, launch control and an easy smooth acceleration.

Would love an S6 or .. well obviously an RS6, the difference in comfort from the Scooby is amazing, but you can never replace the feel of the Scooby, and of course the sound

C'mon then, impress me ..

Probably my 400bhp RX7 twin turbo, or my 300+ forged Nissan Pulsar GTi-R, Both cars actually took your breath away. The Pulsar had digital acceleration, no lag at all with my hybrid turbo and was just insane. The RX7 actually took your breath away and shut my wife up for the only time in her life!

I've had quite a few 350bhp subarus now and both the RX7 and pulsar were without doubt faster and more exciting.

Have to agree I had a built pulsar and thing just flew and didn’t notice lag etc. Did you run a t28 hybrid ?

You know, I think it was but can't fully remember as we're going back 15+ years now. lol. It was insane though. Even to date I have never driven a turbo car with less lag and such aggressive acceleration. They are mental even when mildly built. I did 169 mph in mine and could out drag sports bikes with ease.

Mine would go sideways everywhere. For a 4wd car I could swing the back out with the 60-40 power split everywhere and drift it just perfectly. Thought mine handled pretty well and even felt stable as anything at high speeds. The standard brakes were just terrible though with single piston and slider calipers all round. I had to do a massive brake upgrade on mine to get it to stop a little better.

I should have done that on mine. I had all 4 standard calipers fully rebuilt them fitted a big brake conversion kit that used the standard calipers with massive discs. Was a little better than standard after a lot of work. lol

I had a brand new 99MY Impreza Turbo Wagon that felt really quick for the time....(but wearing), had it PPP'd, then eventually swapped it for a new 2003MY Blobeye when they came out, which was MUCH more refined, and was probably as quick, but didn't feel it... (it was actually much nicer to drive though)
I now have a 18MY 2.5 Outback and that too feels quick when needed, but so much smoother & refined than the old turbo's before it - miss the wave of boost though occasionally! hahahaha
A std early Imp Turbo probably isn't as quick as you think these days as a modern car - like my Outback - power delivery is much more linear.

I think my 99MY PPP was the most 'take your breath away' fastest at times - it would pull so strongly

My current MY00 GC8 with 400ps.

I have driven an R35 GTR but that was horrible to drive and definitely faster but not mine.

My fastest was my last impreza (blobeye sti) running a zen built 2.5 mated to a gt3071r @ 434bhp 460ftlbs the thing was a missile and with its paddle clutch it would lunch straight off the mark with no messing around.

The car I've had the most fun in was my 2004 facelift cosmic grey ep3 type r, it was a hoot to drive and the only car that has got me a speeding ticket. It wasnt that quick but due to the insane redline and noise it gave you the feeling of pure speed.

About to pull the trigger on an f10 m5 competition pack so no doubt that will be the quickest if I buy it.

I've driven (but not owned) quick cars. Some were quick but not really felt it. If you know what I mean...

Two awesome cars!! that rx7 sounds mental. The price on rx7s are ridiculous now. and its amazing how you can pick up an rx8 for next to nothing

The wife had an RX8 for a year and it was a lovely car to drive. Really poised and lovely steering feel, so much fun. In fact it had 3 sets of rear tyres in 1 year of ownership, that's how much fun we both had in it! But no, they are not quick cars but MEGA cheap now.

I forgot I also had a lotus Elise engined Metro GTI as an every day car for a while, the thing was a missile, ate up everything I came across.

Also my Lancia Delta Integrale was bloody fast.

Oh, and had loads of classic cars and classic mini's, the fastest by a long way being my 200bhp A series turbo engined MK1 mini. Was one of the first classic mini's to be turbo'd back in the day and was quite frankly bloody dangerous if you could hold on!

Probably the 2.1 stroked S206 engine tuner classic. I just regret not pushing this on race fuel to see what it was really capable of. Probably was the fastest car I have owned - managed a high 11 sec 1/4 at Elvington.

Also owned a Renault Alpine GTA - Felt really quick for a normal aspirated 2.8 V6, but that might have been because I was only around 21 years old at the time.

My last Impreza which was about 700bhp and used to hit full boost of 2.3bar at 3300rpm, the car used to drag you all over with torque steer and it used to put a big smile on your face . Due to breakages with high power I have moved onto another marque and kept that car at a sensible 530bhp

Plenty lol.. glad I have BMW extended warranty..£27k odd worth of work over 3 years...

Included new turbos, gearbox, suspension..etc..

Over all happy with it..

If you do buy...look into BMW extended warranty...and if the car has less then 60k...its cheaper...and ur covered a the way up to 100k miles...

£1500 a year ..paid off well for me..

not as bad as they were made out to be, we ran our 55 plate for 8 years as a daily driver with very little problems, only flooded it twice in all that time - 20 min crank and purge to restart! Looked and drank like a 400hp car but just hard work to drive fast. But an RX8 with the LS1 engine is the one I'd go for next.

fastest car owned is my STi 3, fastest driven is an F Type R, 550hp AWD
