What is the best method for tinting the rear windows?..... I do not want the sheets that end up peeling....

Unless you get factory glass with tint inside then film sheet is the only way. You could always paint it with a can of hammerite

Just pay someone to do it, I got the rear windows and rear screen done on my BMW and it was only £110. Not worth the grief of getting a good finish on it by doing it yourself.

As said above: have it done professionally.
I had my done by "Pentagon Supaglass". I'd definitely recommend them They are expensive, but probably the best.

if the film tint starts to rip or come loose can you simply rip the entire tint off without damaging the glass?

yes but most place offer a repair for free deal - within reason.
