Default Virgin Media - What are you paying

My VM contract is up soon and was interested in what others are paying.

We are on the 200MB broadband, Full house TV and basic phone - this was for £30 a month last year and the best they can come back with is £45 for the next 12 months.

Even £45 is cheap

We are paying £60 for 100Mb, Full TV bundle and NO line. Ive tried everything to get better deals even their executives office and they have **** service at all levels. Can even do a simple transfer to someones elese name wthout having days or potentially weeks offline.

If you please a new customer order then until the existing service is disconnected they wont install yours.

They give cheaper deals if you take a phone line, we have no actual phone to plug in so its never used but helps with the price.

I also asked if reducing the internet to 100MB would make it cheaper.... it make it more expensive as the 'deal' was only on the 200MB service!

I was getting screwed the same way as I was paying £57 for 200Mb and phone line so I took 360Mb Internet and phone line and they charge me £54.
New customers can get this deal for £37 a month as I argued for this discount but was told I had been given new customer discount a couple of years ago so they weren't going to do it again.

If your willing to leave for a month you can get it for new customer price

Signed up in Oct last year to the following;

Full house TV (inc BT Sports in HD)
Sky Sports
100mb broadband
Evenings and weekends phone line

That is probably well over £100 to folk who pay full whack, but it was a new customer offer plus a guy on our new housing development works for them and added a "friends and family" discount on top.

Pay £62 a month which I don't mind as I can watch all my sports etc. and have a reasonable internet speed (compared to Sky's 10mb through a BT line previously).

£65 just gone up from under £50.

350MB and Full House entertainment.

My discounts were due to winning a case against VM for their ****ty HomeHub and Puma chipset latency issue.

I've got basic TV package (as we have netflix, amazon prime etc), 350 optical BB, and "talk weekends" landline package - £46.50 per month. Got the movie channels free for the first 3 months, which kept the Mrs and son happy over the xmas period!

I don't think there is any other broadband provider that can match Virgin media, so looks like I'm stuck with them.

I'm paying £38 a month for 200mb broadband, TV and phone. Apparently that package is £43 a month, i haggled with Virgin and got them to give me a £60 credit, so over 12 months that works out at £5 per month off the £43 a month so it brings it down to £38, i got them to do the discount over 18 months as they were only going to do it for 12 months. You just need to haggle with them, tell them you want to leave and they will put you through to retentions.

The link below gives you the £45 Full house bundle offer if you are already in a contract that is ending and the customer retentions department haven't already given you the same deal.

www.virginmedia.com/staywithus

Don’t say goodbye. Stay for another 12 months and get the Full House bundle with Full House TV, VIVID 200 fibre broadband and inclusive weekend calls to UK landlines for just £45 a month for a whole year.˄Standard pricing (currently £79) applies after that. Keep enjoying:

  • Ultrafast fibre broadband
  • Over 230 channels
  • BT Sport, including action from the Premier League and UEFA Champions League
  • Loads of incredible shows in glorious HD

I only have the basic broadband with Virgin on Fibre, no phone line or TV package after all the discounts etc it works out at just under £15 a month, they price matched a plusnet deal as I was out of contract.

Again they told me they were putting the price up so I looked around for the best deal and tried to leave but they matched the offer
