Thanks Ali. I always avoid the autoroute services, too many Brits miss out on a quality lunch and cheap fuel away from the autoroute.
I've never been chased for speed camera fines from France, but got caught in Italy last year for driving in a historic zone in a tiny village, six months after it happened

If you are driving along smoking with kids in the back or on the phone then whats the problem? Its still illegal.
