Default Sky VIP

We have had no end of drop outs on our sky broadband and they are now saying if it doesn’t drop out 15 times a day then there’s nothing they can do.

it drops out about 4 times that we are there for and each time it’s around 100 seconds.

i phoned to cancel as I’ve had enough of the years of this and the caller mentioned Sky VIP.

turns out anyone who has been with Sky a while is entitled to a free film and access to seeing stuff before other people.i was expecting him to say it’s x a month so I said no and this morning I had a look.
its free and a no brainer if you’ve been with Sky a while.

have a look

Correct, you do get free stuff like DVD's and sky movies to download.
You also get advance movie screening in the cinema, and priority treatment when you call them

My missus had the same issue, phoned sky told them about the issue and the guy tested the line and said there was a fault on the line or in the box on the wall. So he sent an engineer out.. engineer ran some tests and found nothing.. he said "oh they always say its a fault on the line on the phone.." Then he insisted if we upgrade to cable we wont get the issue anymore! He said the issue was because we were on "old broadband" it will keep going off all the time and that upgrading to cable was the only way.. told him to GTFO of the house as we dont have cable in the street its only to the cabinet..

And in what way does getting a free film and stuff help your crap service that drops out 4 times a day?

Try being with Virgin, I pay for 200mb internet and the amount of time it is down or speeds are just stupidly low is embarassing. I don’t think there is a descent ISP out there.

I'm with Sky, and haven't had many issues with my fibre broadband, but I'd say they're all the same. Just like mobile phone networks

I get around 420ish mb fairly reliably from Unitymedia (KabelBW) for €34.99 a month so I am pretty satisfied with my broadband provider.

The UK are so far behind with broadband speeds, in fact there was a thing I read the other day about getting in contact with someone if you were not able to achieve 30mb
