The Enemy Below
Das Boot
The Cruel Sea
The Battle of the River Plate

The only one I can share any experience with is Das Boot. My Grandfather was a Wellington Pilot in WW2 and was shot down by a U Boat in the Straits of Gibraltar.

Although not directly Naval based it is of a theme. “Heroes of Telemark”. If you keep upto date on this it is now VERY relevant! It was not actually known what was aboard the vessel sunk in the film at the time. Sir Winston Churchill ordered its sinking regardless of limited intelligence. There is a documentary on it soon also on the Discovrry channel. It is claimed that the heavy water lost in that one action halted Hitlers atomic programme in its tracks. If it had not been lost Ze Germans would of won the atomic race and the outcome of the War would of been very very different indeed! In retrospect the film truly depicts a massive shift in the history of mankind. It has only recently been confirmed as to that exact contents of the barrels sunk, although it was always believed to be heavy water.

Battleship - contains both aliens and a lot of Navy - whats not to like! against all the odd's Rhianna even keeps (most) of her clothes on too.
I love the sound effects in this film - on a half decent home cinema setup its great when the alien mortar rounds hit, then bury in...
