Told you so!
A couple of years ago when the Takata airbag scandal kicked off, i was concerned that one had been fitted to my Outback.
I knew that they were fitted to Outbacks manufactured in the US,
Given that the outback was only manufactured in two locations US & Japan.
It would be highly unlikley that they would have two airbag manufacturers
So i phoned Subaru UK direct, and spoke to them regarding the current recall in the US.
I was assured that the Takata airbags had never been fitted to UK
outbacks etc... Yeah Right !!
TADA - today i get a recall notice for the front passenger airbag!!

All International motors parts have been doing over the past few years is re-stocking replacement air bags ready to change them on pretty much everything they imported (source: An employee in the pub ). I don't think it ever was a case of if, but more so when: No point issuing a recall if there is no UK stock!
That and tyre swaps on new Isuzus as the tyres don't conform: Perfectly new tyres going straight in the skip!
