Default Feckin DVLA..

Sold my C63 on 23rd of May...

Just been direct debited another months tax...on 1st June

Got on the merry go round and finally spoke to someone who informed me that it doesnt matter what day you sold it,only when they open the letter to say you have sold it..

Sent on 24th.......NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED

So.... New keeper taxed immedietly on 23rd,taxed again on 1st..

And i taxed it.....

So DVLA have had nearly £150 in 8 days in VED

RIPPING BARSTEWARDS!!

Rant over

Everything that was predicted of the new rules has come about;
The people who follow the rules are getting ripped of royally
According to the DVLAs own statistics, more people than ever are just not bothering to pay
Less effort than ever before is being put into recovering unpaid duties

I don't pay anything government related by direct debit, they can't be trusted to do it properly
Standing order or bank transfer only, that way I'm in control of what they get.

it's like standard tax .. they will happily take more than owed and unless you notice .. but the second you get more wage than allowed ..

Should have cancelled the direct debit. Or pay for 6 months at a time

I had the very same thing,
I also bought a r32 but the log book wasn't present as awaiting back from a plate change , my buddy once the log book was back a couple days late went online and put the correct sold date as 13th of the month I taxed it as soon as a he received the papers was like the 20th so back dated tax to the 1st of that month , I then a week later received a £107 fine for the car being untaxed for that week , the car was garaged and unused so wasn't driven around etc
I spoke to them and explained there wasn't a log book present and no ref number allowing me or the keeper to sorn the car, the car was taxed by the previous keeper for that month , and I had taxed it which stated it was back dated for the 1st,
I was told not a valid excuse and that it was down to me to tax or sorn and the moment it was sold on those dates.
So that month me and the previous keepers paid tax and I got a £107 fine so the dvla did well that month from one car.
