Hi all , New York September, 7 nights , based Times Square , I’ve bought a pass for several sites & attractions etc . Just looking for some good tips & advise really .

Make use of the Citi bikes, I did 100 miles in a few days, faster than a taxi or the subway and you get to see a lot. Needs a bit of planning if like me you want to stay in the free'ish time slot - $24 for 3 days, free 30min rides - but it's a fun way to get around, never felt unsafe.
Just come back from there - stayed at the Avalon Hotel very close to the Empire State.
9/11 museum was really good - need to spend a good few hours there, staff really helpful and a lot were in the city on the day and are keen to share their experiences. There is a section dedicated to the victims where you look up each one and here a short piece from their family - really moving.
Use subways ( but the travel cards have a limited credit ) so be sure to plan your routes
Definitely do 9/11 museum, Central Park , and time square at night
I'd recommend both the day and night open top bus tours
And DEFO take comfy walking shoes as you'll clock up some mileage , and be prepared, it's like London on steroids super busy and full on but it's an amazing place you'll have fun
Go to the Stardust Diner for an evening meal - they employ out of work actors and actresses from the Broadway shows who then sing and perform for you while you eat. It's a good, fun experience. Not the best food in the world, but it's great entertainment especially if the other half likes that sort of thing (mine loved it). Make sure you book a table though because it can get very busy at times!
First thing I was going to say was don't bother with any passes - when we looked we were always paying for something we didn't want to do - but maybe they work for you.
Some of the must do stuff is free - walk over the Brooklyn bridge, Central Park, Staten Island ferry, 9/11 memorial, Wall Street, st Patrick's cathedral on 5th avenue, high line walkway.
We also managed to locate a major fire callout near our hotel - very impressive seeing all the kit and firemen in action but thanfully it was just smoke damage in a flat on the 34th floor.
For broadway shows TKTS in Times Square sell genuine half price tickets on the day, but you might have to queue for an hour.
Comfy shoes are a must - Skecher go walks are really good.
10% tourist discount in Macy's and Bloomberg, show your passport at customer service to get a voucher.
Top of the rock was impressive, uninterrupted views up over Central Park, go early to avoid the queues.
We went end aug/early sept, it was 30 deg C but we were very lucky.
We found 7 days perfect, try not to plan too much to give yourself some time to just enjoy the experience.

Horse and cart round is nice round Central Park if you’re going with a partner.
went to see the knicks at the gardens. But be aware it drags on for nearly 3hrs because of the constant stoppages. I didn’t enjoy it at all but you may do!.
lots and lots to do though. Found the subway best way of getting around.
Fire stations & general building architecture is a must , I’m happy to watch the steam come out the drains , think the mrs will prefer the shows sights & restaurants. There is a lot to cram in for sure but 6 nights & we don’t fly out til 11pm on the last day so I’m sure a lot of the above will be doable. Just need deep pockets lol
Staten Island Ferry - great views of the skyline and Liberty and it’s free! We got off and straight back on the returning ferry. Helicopter ride either before or after (yes, it’s expensive, but it’s awesome) and the helipad is only a short walk away from the ferry port. Whilst there do the rest of the Financial Quarter and to finish off walk the length of Broadway to Timesquare. Soak up the atmosphere and grab dinner and a show in the evening. This itinerary was the highlight of our trip and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. Enjoy and bon voyage!

Coney Island was great when we were there as it was 100+ and the sea was lovely!
Beast Speedboat ride.
Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum - Concorde, Space Shuttle plus many more.
Eating and drinking around Devil's kitchen.
A shame you've bought passes as they end up costing a lot more.
It can be an expensive to eat and drink but you're on holiday in one of the best cities in the world, don't scrimp!
