Drove to dover from here one night, going down the A1, all's well ... until they close it at Newark, southbound, NO diversion posted, 1am... Thanks you tw@ts.

Tonight, eldest driving to Hartlepool, finds A1 northbound closed at Ferrybridge. Diversion takes him to Ferrybridge services roundabout, then...TWO diversion signs, one pointing in each direction.

Are these ***** for REAL??????

Does ANYONE care about the motorist now? Or are we all eco-terrorists and criminals? (Thanks Liebour).

What of some young lass travelling alone?

I feel your pain - I was driving down the A14 in the dark just before xmas - road was closed - queued off for half an hour to exit - only to be sent around the roundabout and back the way we had come to the junction before! I had'nt got a ******* clue where we were or even what direction to head in.... same as your case there were Diversion signs pointing down each exit of the roundabout - very helpful... NOT!

Yeah, there's another thing: if any work necessitates closure of a road, it should be manned 24/7 until it's done.
I KNOW it'll cost more, but that would be offset by the time saved by traffic.
