Default Black Friday, just a con?

I had my eye on three things I was interested in over the past couple of months. I've been price watching various retailers, and waiting to pounce on Black Friday.
About three weeks ago, the price went up about 10% on all three items in ever single online store.
Today, that increase has been taken back off, and they are back to the same price as a few weeks ago. This is their so called Black Friday sale.
Black Friday my ****. Its just a con.

Lets face it, sales are traditionally to get rid of excess stock, or to make way for new stock. Retailers are actually stocking up for Black Friday, which proves my theory its just a con.

I did get a few bargains in previous years though.

you can pick up some good deals, just depends on what it is and if its actually what you want.

I ordered a fitbit blaze yesterday at £119.99 (which was already discounted down from £160 supposedly) supplied by amazon, noticed today it was down at £106.99 so canceled order and reordered, £13 saving which = 8% so not mega amounts but still a saving

It's all about creating a feeding frenzy.

It's just like Ebay... take an Item, price it cheaply to gain interest... then just wait for the madness to begin.

I got £2400 for an 1800 quid car the last time I did it.

Most people are stupid.

Last year I didn't manage much either. However I managed to get some cheap B-grade Mission floorstanders in the New Year, so really it's all a bit meh!

I had a sniff round, best I could muster on something I actually want/need is 10% off at best; not enough to make me click buy.

There is some good deals as long as your not looking for a cheap bargain. I’m still tempted to buy the Sony MDR 1000 headphones from Currys for £199.

It’s not what’s cheap it’s what is cheaper

Black Friday is a heap of rubbish.

Here are 2 pictures of a water pump from last year. As a test I went onto eurocarparts to look for parts using Black Friday codes.

Same parts were cheaper on there eBay site. And had been for a while I think. It's just a big con.

Same with company body shop sent me a 50% offer few weeks ago in an email. Now Black Friday offering 40% off lol

Sorry, the grief I've had with their shyte pumps and stats...I wouldn't even pay 5 pence for one.

*oxy-acetylene, of course

Same the world over. just before leaving France, my local Intermarche supermarket was trumpeting a big sale the next week. The prices on several things I buy had been put up by 25% the week I left...
I bought elsewhere.

They must think we are daft.
