the problem is that now the new drive is down anything mains powered on the divider wall would mean lifting some of the paving to get to the wall( from the picture and information supplied)
If you have done the drive DIY then you do have a few options,
maybe something like this down each side spaced out.

That looks good, my drive wasn't DIY, and its been down for just over a year at this stage
I was wondering if his sort of thing would be any use.

The problem is the divider wall is very difficult to see being the colour that it is, and the problem is with my current car being quite big, I need to get pretty close to the wall in order to be able to get out of the car as easily as possible.
I didn't have this car last year.

Anything wrong with a couple of small led floods on the house and maybe something reflective on the wall ?
If you have power at the divider wall then just fit a few surface lights that are PIR or timed.

You still need mains for those dont you, if you have a way to get mains on the wall you can do alsorts,

There's probably nothing wrong with led floods, just trying to do something a bit more discreet.
If I went with those strip lights, i could activate them via a smart plug and/or timed basis

Yeah, no problem.
It was just an idea that I'd considered based on a limited space
Don't suppose you have experience of any of these products, or a supplier you could point my in the direction of please?

have a Google, get some ideas and post back, I do have experience in this area,
Those rope lights will also turn to dust after a few months on sunlight,
What about these ? on the garage pillar looking down the drive,
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/smart-t...FdQUGwodg7wJ1w
Obviously not cheap, but does a lot more than you need and adds CCTV,
lights have app control or the normal sensors etc,
you could also add a flood on the garage at the apex (if it has one) pointing down the drive.

I have used this stuff in the past http://www.dwwindsor.com/products/vaio/VAI/ . Not cheap though.
Aluminium channel gets buried and the LED strip clips in so that it's flush with paved surface.

JDM_Stig, you mentioned something reflective - i'll go some research on this, because if this then illuminates with the cars reverse light, then that's a potential solution also.
I think maybe the easiest option also might just be a pir led flood on the eave of the garage as you look at it in that picture.

I agree the easiest is a light on the garage,
anything on your side of the divider wall will stick out , so it would need to be slim if you went down that route,
only downside to a flood, even high, is if you are reversing it may blind/dazzle you,
maybe something on the pillar(a little chrome up and down) light, to guide you and gives you a idea of where the wall will be, the wall never moves so you will know that wall is a further 7 inches say from where that light is.

and then a flood on the house to light the drive up, so the light is above and not dazzling you.

Thinking of getting one of these - you any experience of them by any chance?

Already have two of these at the moment, one on the side of the garage to light up the rear garden, and one on the left eave of the garage as you look at that photo, but its really only to light up the rear of the house, and immediate front of the garage.

As long as it doesnt dazzle you as you reverse then it will work.

OK. No worries.
Here's a pic to show how close you need to get to the divider wall. Its not so bad at the back of the house, but when my car is further up the drive, its tight getting out unless you're even a wee bit closer than this photo shows.
Also pic of the garage light on the left.

Looking at the 2nd picture again, I bet it wouldnt be that big a job to lift the nearest row of paving to the dividing wall and fitting the first idea, using power from the garage now, doing it properly,
or even setting some of the lights above in that last row.

I did, but I cheated and took the easy way out.
In that garage picture, in the middle and about the same level as the other light, I fitted a ring floodlight camera.
This gives sufficient light down that little wall, it allows me to remotely control it(or put it on a timer), plus I have the added benefit of monitoring the place. I also have a ring video doorbell 2 as a secondary purchase. I'll get a picture added as soon as I can
