Default RIP . . . CHRIS CORNELL

****! Chris Cornell's hanged himself in a hotel room, whilst on tour. Just 52. Gutted.

Black Hole Sun and You Know My Name are two of my all-time favourite songs.

RIP to a very talented musicsmith, with an amazing voice.

Heard this yesterday, but didn't know he'd hanged himself. Fantastic voice, sad loss.

Very sad. I was going to see Soundgarden play next week, here in Dallas, as I'm a fan. Feel especially bad for his wife and kids. He must have been in so much pain to want to end it the way he did :-(

Missed this thread, been listening to his last solo album Higher Truth and Audioslave for the past few days. Bloody sad news he was a real talent and what a voice

I for one don't believe it was suicide even though he had a history of issues, he seemed completely content with his life for the last few years. (Maybe a Hutchence momment?)

I always thought "Only These Words" was about one of his daughters, it certainly reminds me of my daughter when I hear it.

Did one of the best Bond songs ever

One of the best covers ever in Billie Jean

And one of the best firework videos come hard driving track Cochise which totally shows off his amazing 4 octave voice.

He's already sorely missed in my ears

Got into Audioslave while I was in the states, I think they have a higher profile over there than in the UK. Sad news indeed.

R.I.P Chris.
I can't say I was a massive fan, didn't have any albums (bought the single black hole sun when it was released) but bizarrely, for the first time in years, I was listening to some of his music on YouTube the night before his death was announced. A great and unique voice.
