Misguided as in your analogy you go to another buyer. We don't have another buyer.

Sure we can trade with the rest of the world (although we do now, a fact that seems to have escaped the Wrexiteers), but roughly half is with the EU, so 'walking away' as you put it is simply not an option.

And as for "another buyer", let's wait for the politicians and people like Juncker, out to make a name for himself, to finish their posturing. THEN see what happens when industry starts to put pressure on..... for it's NOT the politicians who call the tune, whatever they may think.

Well, in your ill thought out analogy, we walk away. However, back in the real word we cannot, so we get WTO rules, which is considerably worse than what we have now.

Who exactly is going to put pressure on? We are not going to stop buying goods from the EU, we still need cars, parts, food, TVs etc etc, they will simply be more expensive. The drop for the companies there will be negligible, just more pain for us.

Saying you are naive isn't an insult, it's simply stating a fact.
