I noticed how the government wheeled out a minister (Grayling) on Sunday to deny that a trade deal with EU would be difficult
On a related note I watched the fantastic film - Downfall again last night

None of us, including politicians, journalists and economists know what the eventual outcome will be. Those doom and gloom merchants the remoaners are just seeing the negative propaganda. Anyone making plans or changing their thoughts or recruitment processes due to the "uncertainty" would have just as much reason to recruit based on the UK's ability to trade with whoever we want in future. Its only people panicking that devalues the pound.

Norway have already turned us down for negotiation before we exit the EU in case it endangers their relationship with the EU. The issue is, that you cannot trade independently with an EU member, and until we exit, that's what we are.
And when we exit, we will be one nation, on its own with not as much clout as all the Brexiteers seem to think we have, because, after all, this is 2016, not 1816.
I'm sure people will be queuing up to trade with us, but not because of the goodness of their hearts, they will want what's best for them.

The ultimate irony is that no matter how bad it gets for the majority (there will always be some winners) the politicians can legitimately say
"not us gov, you voted for it"

Don't forget the EU trade deal with Canada has taken 7 years to negotiate and then its blocked by a single region of one EU country! Those who think the EU will give us a good deal because BMW want to sell cars are living in a dream-world!
There is a general feeling from many member states, particularly Poland, that any preferential deal for the UK will undermine the core of the EU and result in the collapse of the block - Poland have seen the benefits of the EU more than most, and they will not want totake any risk of the EU collapsing and going back to the days of isolation.
BMW and other German car manufacturers will not care as much as the Brexiteers think they do. Firstly they sell premium brand cars with high profit margins. If we have a hard Brexit, then the German brands have some leverage to reduce profits to counter tarifs if they need to, but in the end, they know that people will still buy their cars whatever they cost. Nobody really cares if sales drop by a couple of % in the UK - for them business will go on as usual!
In the end, Theresa May can puff her feathers as much as she wants, the EU will not be able to agree a preferential deal for the UK because they will never get unanimity from all states! The deal will therefore be the same as Norway or Switzeland with freedom of movement or sod off and see how you do on your own!
This whole Brexit means Brexit and the British people have spoken nonsense is just really stupid. Firstly, nobody has given Therisa May a mandate to do anything! The Brexit vote was won by a very small margin. There was no 100% voter turnout and many ex-pats were denied the right to vote on a matter that directly influences their lives! In the cold light of day, now the lies have been exposed and the poor can no longer afford to shop in Poundland, the vote now would be very different. This prolonged period of uncertainty is increadibly damaging for the UK and the Government needs to take action fast to bring some stability back.
If Brexit does mean Brexit, then fine, but be realistic that we're not going to get a special deal, pick an option - Norway / Switzerland / WTO - and get it done so that we know what the score is! Or accept it was a catastrophic mistake to have a referendum to sort out Conservative party infighting and accept that Brexit doen't have to mean Brexit!

This would be tantamount to a parliamentary vote on strategy and tactics before going to war: the enemy might just be looking in.
With so many twists and turns involved would you advocate a vote before every twist and every turn? It could take years just to agree step one!

Ultimately who is going to be held to account for the final settlement?
