Fuel: Cost difference between 95RON and 97RON = 32p/L
Just filled up at a BP station and used their 97RON. I noticed the banner outside said 95RN Unleaded was 107.9p but 97 was not price listed (as it often isn't)..
When I filled up I was surprised to see 139.9P/L on the receipt! That's around £16 extra to fill up for a marginal gain.. Kicking myself now as my car can handle 95..
I know you chaps with Scoobys usually put the high octane stuff in on every fill but are the costs per L still as high as this at other garages such as Shell?

Did you know that BP's so called high octane is virtually the same as the 95ron making it a massive rip off!

Also another thing to check is to see whether the pumps are properly calibrated, ie, a litre costs what it's stated. Fill up one litre and check the price matches or fill up 10 litres as there is less chance of rounding off errors of the unit price. One pump I've used, a small local petrol station, was a couple of pennies more per litre.

Same here, mapped for VP and would only ever run VP or Momentum. But even if i did map for 95, i still wouldn't touch BP!

Diesel used to be cheaper than petrol, by a reasonable margin
That was in the mid 80,s - when there were few diesel cars and not all petrol stations stocked it

Seen this on another forum from a Norfolk based BP. I've previously never touched them because their markup on Ultimate was a joke compared to NUL.
However BMW recommends the stuff in the new diesels and Ultimate Diesel at my local garage is in line with Vpower.

I'm on LPG,
it's only dropped 5p from 65p to 60p a litre.
When petrol hit's £1/Litre It becomes hardly worth using LPG.
And the car runs much better on petrol anyway.
The LPG conversion industry must have collapsed!

Surely there must have been a pricing error there. The price is the first thing I check before I buy anything! Are youbtellujg us that it wasn't displayed at the pump? Isn't that illegal?
As above, I paid £109.9 for Tesco Momentum last week. £55 to fill her up.

That partly started to come undone when the Powershift initiative was abolished. A lot of dual-fuel manufactured cars stopped getting produced and because of the warranty implications with aftermarket stuff it never really took off. I've still got a 1.2i Corsa with an LPG conversion on it tucked away awaiting a head gasket swap when my time frees up. I bought it purely as a cheap fix, summer hack to work for this year. I couldn't help but think how tight ahem thrifty do you need to be to convert a 1.2 Corsa C?! They are 40mpg motors in their own right.

I use it out of 'irony'. As I do the 'acronym' that is: lol. Such utter tripe amuses me greatly.
Let's face it, these terms aren't going to go away anytime soon (more's the pity : rolleyes... So may as well 'reclaim' them as our own!
