Lovely car Andy
(totally stunning actually
)
I see they have moved the DCCD and auto/manual switch together? i would have thought this could be interesting if you are playing and accidentally hit it back to auto?
(seperate on old model cars
)
Does your car also have the quick rack? (would have thought so being a JDM car
) but couldnt see the quick steering by STi sticker
Have they gone back to the round (dunno if the JDM cars changed from 03?) lock on the boot?
Go add an STi Panel filter and get those RE070's scrubbed in
(oh more power
)
Tony
PS, its great having the rear fog intergrated into the cluster (have the same
) as cars dont know that your a JDM verson

Very very nice Andy, you must be well chuffed.
One thing I would do if it were mine though is get some S U B A R U boot letters and remove the STi badge, that way people will think it is a standard UK WRX
The new centre console is growing on me

I'm not sure that having the switches together is as much a problem as how sensitive the DCCD **** is. Go over a sharp bump as you adjust the diff and it's gone all the way from open to locked! No doubt I'll have a good play with this in due course.
Yes, it has the quick rack, they just don't fit that sticker any more. I'm actually finding it a bit over-sensitive and would perhaps have preferred the standard 15:1 rack instead. That said, I've been driving a van with about a 30:1 rack for the last couple of months, so maybe I just need to get used to it!
Don't know whether they ever used the square boot lock in Japan, I'm just glad they've not used it on my car! (Did anyone figure out whether the square one was stronger or anything?)
Got to get the engine scrubbed in before I worry about the tyres!
Danny: UK WRX? You kidding?

Cracking interior photographs - very professionally done. Almost thought I saw a bit of Photoshop blur for the backgrounds ;-). Getting a my MY05 black WRX in four weeks - but seeing a really nice black STI gives me ideas for next time round!

So, general approval is granted, then?
BAH: Mud flaps already on order - black with white STI logos, from Scott Lowe.
IanW: No need to order a new car if you don't want, I disowned you when you fitted the STI spoiler
dietbruboy: No Photoshop manipulation at all
Just a camera with a proper big sensor and a wide aperture, that's all. The trick with the interior photos is to park the car somewhere with fairly even lighting - my driveway on an overcast day! - and to not use a flash.
AndiThompson: I can't wait until I can really afford to buy and insure one either! I just figured you're only young and irresponsible once, enjoy it while it's still legal etc. The mortgage can wait
fastfrank: Yes, it's a Japanese import. As far as I know, the UK car doesn't have the rear wiper, tinted windows, HID lights, red dials, quick rack, electric folding mirrors, or the JDM-spec engine with the twin scroll turbo.

Frank,
Its the way the gasses are delivered into the turbo (4 different branches i believe, so flows in at different times) and it reduces lag to virtually zero (if not zero) on fast gear changes
Much more low down torque also on the VF36/37 turbos and a very nice whistling sound
(well it is on mine but thats cos mine hasnt got any soundproofing
)
The engine has also been redeveloped for torque, so much more advanced than the older engines, though you loose the flat 4 sound (and trust me your not bothered about that
)

Great looking car - any chance of a straight side-on shot please (emailed to me), so i can see the anti-moron door strips. Not sure whether to put them on mine, but i do park in a lot of public car parks and its only a matter of time - my old bugeye got its door dented after 4 days of ownership
Thanks in advance
