My JDM Subaru Forester STI
Here is my very unique Forester!
its a 1998 JDM Subaru Forester powered by an EJ20K taken from a Impreza STI v4 Type R
The shell has done 98000 Miles on Odometer (mostly in km)
and the engine has done roughly 45,000 Miles
Additional Modifications:
Blitz Dual Drive Blow Off Valve
Apexi Power Intake Induction System
Full 3'' Stainless Exhaust
Full Decat
Exedy Clutch
Blobeye Impreza Front Seats
New Fuel Lines
Autogauge 30psi Boost Gauge
Silicon Vacuum Lines
Works 18inch Alloys
Tinted Windows & De-Wipered Rear
Momo Steering Wheel & Shift ****
Yellow Fog Lights
Orange LED Sidelights
Thatcham 1 Immobiliser
Remote Central Locking
The car is still running stock boost pressure for now, a boost controller is next on my list of modifications (the car still flies with stock psi!)
It truly is an ultimate sleeper car, and believe it or not - it only weighs 70kg more than the Impreza - which is about the same weight as a passenger! so its not as heavy as people think. it also uses the same floorpan as the Impreza, so 99% of aftermarket parts that fit the Impreza will fit the Forester, so im not short of goodies to buy for it.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated
Trooper 1815 - what's a JDM Foggy? lol, yeah the car has had an engine swap from an Impreza STI Version 4 Type R
Very nice ProdriveRules! What kind of power do you think yours is putting out? I havnt had mines dyno'd yet but I'd like to so that the new exhaust and decat get taken full advantage of

Lol. I've never actually seen any,so the next question was going to be are they any good, but You've answered that already.
I've recently swapped the lower half of my dash for an Impreza one, as I'm not keen on the light grey. The Impreza centre consold doesn't meet up to the bottom of the radio surround perfectly, and I do miss the rear cup holders already.
You should go with some 4 pots too, unless you really want the sleeper look.

They are very functional, only thing I dislike about the rear seats is the pattern on the cloth lol, very dated to say the least!
Yeah the dash colours in the fozzy are pretty dated aswell, I've had a little play with the centre console with painting it silver and it looks so much better, never thought about swapping the dash before - guessing its not a good idea?

I also transferred the glove box light into the Impreza glovebox, as I like that too.

I'm a noob to the Scooby scene. Always been into aircooled VWs and still own this great example of a Karmann Ghia. Which will be for sale next year after I've had some final restoration work done on it. Tell your aircooled mates
Anyway, back on topic!
I bought this last month, a Subaru Forester ST/b STi 1997 (auto box). It came with all the extras and features the grey leather and walnut trim. A complete impulse purchase, when I was looking to buy a family estate for camping trips, fully loaded with kids, mtbs and dogs. Anji took one look and gave it the thumbs up as well. The deal was done and I handed over £1800 for it.
I've had a couple of teething problems, the main one being the up pipe blowing in the exhaust, causing rpm loss over 3K rpm?! The problems currently being repaired. After that I've got a project to throw some money at and get it looking 10/10. Looking forward to the forum and getting some help with this project.
