Default Vehicle Enthusiasts Day @ Ford Dunton R&D Centre

Hey guys,

Some of you know i work at the Ford R&D Technical Centre in Dunton, Essex.
As you can imagine im one of a few hundred car mad petrolheads working there every day. Many of which like me have their own ideas of motoring nirvana of all shapes and sizes. Some are modern performance cars, other classic sports cars, kits car, projects, 2 wheels & four... and anything inbetween.

Every year Dunton puts on a special day for all us petrolheads working there, and closes its test track to allow us to display our cars, bikes and projects for everyone to see.

Vehicles are split into categories and then there is a panel of judges to award the top cars of each category, mine for example was "Worldwide cars post 1980". Judges are Ford CEOs, managers and sometimes WRC drivers lol.

364 days of the year cameras are strictly prohibited on site due to the nature of vehicle design, but during the enthusiasts day we're allowed to take snaps.

Here are some to share with you that a friend took and some quickies from my iphone.
Amazingly i won my class of which i was rather pleased about.

Anyway, heres a handful of snaps from some of kit on display. We all had a great day.

Cheers

Frayz

Great set of photo's Frayz, that's a fair selection of top cars to get together for an in-house performance day. Shame it was not open to the public, looked better that a lot of car shows !!

Used to work there myself a few years ago, it's a great place.

Paul.

Yeah its always a good turnout Paul. Thats the main reason i like it because of the variety of vehicles. You never know what someone has lurking tucked away in a garage or what project they have been working on.

The Vtec mini and the Mountune track ST prepped ST fiesta are very nice. These guys and others are good friends and its great to see their hard work.

Not many places you can go and find anything from an M3 powered kit car to a C2 tarmac rally car to a fully restored Capri or Model A.

Refurbed the wheels and rotary job on the paint and it's super lol.

What a brilliant line up there Frayz, I know you say at times it's only a job but to be working with people with such passion and imagination which a few must have must be a pleasure.
If you had a job like mine you would probably think that you had landed on another planet
