Thanks some useful info there. Just ordered some of the recommended paint cans.
For the black primer anything specific? I have seen some called etching primer... is this better?

You're better off sanding the wheels or scotch bright them, then simple grey primer lightly for a couple of coats, then a few layers of normal gloss black to seal then a few layers of the bronze until you get the desired shade.
Think I did scotch bright, 2 grey primer, 3 black and about 6 bronze. They are faultless and not chipped at all with daily use. Look like a professional job.

I have some polished Rota GRAs and planned to mask them off and only change the polished face to bronze... any extra advice there?

My lad is keen to help and I reckon it's worth a shot...The graphite colour on all the rest of the wheels is still in great condition. If it's a disaster then I have a mate who can do a pro job on the whole wheels so will probably go that route.
