Remember that a lot of us are driving UK spec cars with the 2.5, so the driving manner and fuel consumption characteristics will be different, particularly on a motorway. I get ~230 - 240 miles to a tank of V Power, mostly motorways during the week.

as you prob know mate I was only having a bit of fun ,, its always good to know what sort of MPG we are getting in different spec's ,, I get fairly good MPG but not sure exactly what I get or how acruate my reader is but I just enjoy the miles before iv got to go to the garage and put more in lol

Having delved a little further the Newage SpecC has a unique fuel tank part number

Standard JDM Newage fitment 42012FE012
SpecC specific 42012FE082

So yes the NEWAGE SpecC may have a 50 Ltr tank

In addition looking at the fuel pump, for the Hatch and Saloon,, all 207 and 257 models JDM or UK, get the same pump element (42022D below) 42022FG060

Seems a lame way of guesstimating fuel consumption, especially with a split lower section tank which relies on a jet tranfer pump and readings from two level sensors to decide when the light comes on.
Tank fill up to tank fill up would be a better way to go. A known quantity (give or take pump trigger reactions) and known mileage (dependent upon tyre rolling radius).

I swear I've seen 50l somewhere as well but my GRB Spec C brochure says 60l.

I know somethings are not in the main Subaru DB but..........
Why not lift the rear seat base, remove pump access cover and confirm shape of fuel pump mounting flange - metal oval or plastic round with metal clamp ring.

What dealers have people used (and have been satisfied with the work, i.e no rattles etc) in West Midlands to get the passenger airbag replaced under the recall?

I don't want to take mine to one that hasn't done the job before and use mine as a guinea pig.

I'm pretty sure they have all perfected it by now, my local one said they had done over 200 now.

Mine's due at the Penzance Citroen/Subaru dealer, where I suspect they have done less than 1, so I have the same concerns as you, and no alternatives for 100 miles.

Anyone ever have an issue with stalling when braking coming up to a junction in neutral.

Pretty sure I have a vacuum leak somewhere but wondering has anyone else had it before as was reading few others with hatch sti having brake servo diaphragm issues albeit US forums, basically a hole in the diaphragm developing

I went to check my oil over the weekend to find that she has spewed coolant from the expansion tank over the belt cover, the tank was practically full and there was very little coolant in the header tank.

On closer inspection of the coolant there were some black bits floating about.

I'm thinking the beginning of HG failure?

Haha good thinking Rob, I have had a long chat with Alan Jeffery about the possible options, he was brilliant at going through what my requirements are and how they can match that with a rebuild package.

I just need to get the cash together and arrange for her to go down to Plymouth

Thanks Mate.

They have suggested that I should obviously go the forged route whist doing the head gaskets. What I do need to bear in mind is this is a daily so needs to not be crazy, I am also not chasing crazy numbers (up to 400 max).

With that in mind forged pistons, rods, also looking at the top deck plate option if in budget to add strength, the usual deletes such secondary air pump etc. RCM gaskets and studs.

ET have suggested a very pragmatic approach which I like, get the car to them, get the engine out and then make a plan based on what they can see in front of them.

My driver's side front foglight glass is cracked, does anyone know the replacement part number for either the glass or the whole foglight ?

Same as UK car about £90 just for the glass and lens assembly.

I guess the part number you refer to is 84912KG041, is my understanding correct?

I was only pulling your leg with the RCM (looked for the most expensive option for fun), not that there is anything wrong with that option of course

Forged is a no brainer. I think you are about right with your options.

Pinning the block is a great idea if you decide to push the engine later in life.
