been offered nearly twice that for mine a couple of times so clearly not all forged uk hatches are created equal lol
so if I found a JDM hatch for the same money (10k) does that make yours worth that ?
dont get me wrong I'm not saying I don't like them as I do I just don't see the benefit of owning one if the pistons are in a similar situation as the uk ones as id rather have my forged 2.5 than a 2.0 all day long , but then iv got a properly built one

iv owned many forged engines including closed deck 2.1's and 2.0 but they still don't compare with my 2.5 , I currently own a engine tuner 2.1 aswell but wouldn't swap it for my 2.5 as its a better engine for my road car
last time I checked bobs Subaru had a closed deck 2.5

has been a while since I last seen him and spoke about his car so not surprised its sold
all I was trying to say is if a well respected engine builder states that they (newer jdm models) have similar problems to the 2.5 then I don't see what the benefit of going jdm would be
iv clearly hit a nerve so ill just leave it there as it wasn't intended to get under anyones skin it was just a general statement lol

I enquired about it but the fact that "it was bought from a japanese dealer", hence no auction sheet, put me off.
An auction sheet and more importantly a japanese inspection report by a 3rd independent party adds reassurance to a buy.

Does anyone know where to source an OEM sports grill for a reasonable price ?
I am after blue or unpainted, anyway.
IMPARTS46 used to do them on ebay for £70 or so IIRC but I can't find them anymore.

Not all of us went jdm for perceived reliability. The spec C is just so suitable for B road bashing; just look at how Darren on here compared it to his s204, or Mark Fey compared his to his 500+ classic. It's all chalk and cheese with your big builds, standard jdms, spec CS, and Raggy's garage queen. All of you have slower colours anyhow 😉(Apart from that orange manifold and pipe work !!) Ps Domino I had a great day out in the Mendips between the snow 2 weeks ago. Lovely area

don't get me wrong a well built car is a well built car regardless of what engine it has got in it
the point I was curious about was the fact that the JDM has similar piston problem to the uk 2.5 according to as performance,, so it seems a lot of agro to go JDM if your doing it just for reliability as you could be in the same boat as a uk car ,, and if I'm building a forged engine id prefer 2.5
was out in the snow in mine lol

Not struck a nerve at all mate
There’s not been a reported engine failure with a Jdm hatch that I’ve seen as of yet and a lot lads have them remapped etc
In fact there was a Jdm thread a few years back with versions 8-9 running well in excess of 450 bhp for years wo issues
I based my decision to buy a Jdm in reading a lot of those threads
I think a standard uk car is pale in comparison hit the search button on here
