MK1 Escorts.... Fantastic
Some of em have strange tyre wear pattens though
Mate of mine in his 2L Pinto MK1 at Harewood Hillclimb earlier this year.
And my brother out braking himself in the same car, (Shared car) also at Harewood Hillclimb.

Here are some pics of my younger brothers car, unsure wether to put these here or the ford forum so i'll put them in both.
You'll see by the pics the amount of effort put in on the restoration of this mk1, started off as a cleanish mk1 escort with 27,000 miles, one owner from new and had been stood for 10 yr's.
Being 19 insurance is a nightmare so the stock 1.0 litre engine is staying put for the time being.

LOVELY!
I love Mk1 escorts - First car I remember my dad having. Wouldn't it be nice to have a car that looks like that on the outside, but with all the creature comforts, and performance of a Cossie/Scoob on the inside.
Hmmm...Nice.

My cousins got a MK1 with a 2.2 pinto with all the bells and whistles on it, it puts out as many ponies as my scoob, but it runs out of puff at about 110, sure does get there quick though!

Sweet Crypt.
I reckon the most spectacular cars up at the New Brighton Seafront Rally earlier in the year were the Mk 1 and 2 Escorts. Loads of sideways action...

Ron,
Unfortunately because of the rules we can only run upto 2000CC otherwise the car will end up in the "Over 2000CC" class (obviously ), but that puts it in with 2litre turbo cars such as the Impreza or Evo's...
The white one is in dry dock at the moment having an engine rebuild for next season. Hopefully it will be out at New Brighton Sprint which I beleive is part of the Mid Cheshire Motor Club Sprint calender.
Cheers

WOW, that's really nice
More of a mkII fan myself, I had a 1600 sport, what a dog it was I wanted one so desperately I bought the first one I saw, won't do that again I had to park it on the road, near a bus stop, if there was no one at the stop, car was fine. If the really actractive lass ( that I fancied) was there, it wouldn't start for love nor money and I had to bump start it
